  11. I got into this one a bit late, but as I read each post this was the one I was looking for. You are going to know you have one of these monsters in the area, so Let's work And TRAIN together, and EXTENSIVELY, so EVERYBODY knows, even those who make a limited number of calls. In my department, to respond M/A for work at scene or standby, if you are not an interior firefighter, you don't go. Of course, I may be speaking totally out of class here since it's been 20 plus since I wore the white hat.

  20. Chris here's one of what you mentioned. Several years ago we were dispatched to a "serious PIAA" at a relatively dangerous intersection in North Salem. One vehicle was struck broadside on the passenger side severely pinning and injuring the elderly female passenger. Statflght was utilized. A year later the passenger stopped at the firehouse inquiring who had called for Stat Flight. As it turned out, she said that the docs in the ER told her that due to the mechanism of injury and distance, she would not have survived had she been transported by ground

  23. I'm not sure of the statute, but I do know that it is possible to register a vehicle with old plates,eg: you own a 1939 vehicle, if you can get your hands on a set of 1939 Worlds Fair plates. But I don't know if the vehicle has to be registered as historic. One of our members works at DMV, next time I see him I'll attempt to get further info for ya.
  24. Loooks like quite a great trip, Dave! Great pics! Thanks for sharing.
