  1. Do all these Westchester companies carry adapters to FDNY thread?
  2. My academy used three person companies and when a team was operating as an engine company, one person had to operate the pump. Made things a lot more realistic then some of the six man search drills I've done in the past. Maybe this is a good time to ask a question I've wondered about for a long time. How come when a fire chief violates NFPA 1403 resulting in a firefighter's death he is sent to prison but no chief nor city council has ever been prosecuted for willingly violating NFPA 1710 resulting in a firefighter's death?
  3. Ex-Danbury FD Squad 7 Village of Fishkill also has one
  4. No cascade only trucks around here, maybe up in Roosevelt
  5. Large SFD, new building. Cold Spring, North Highlands, Garrison, Continental Village, Hughsonville, Rombout, Fishkill, Beacon FDs operating
  6. Good for you guys I wish I coulda made it down to the rally today but I was working, best of luck
  7. Bold statement from an 18-20 year old who has never worked his a** off in a fire academy, nor finished college, nor had the adult perspective to reflect back and weigh the difference! It's ok kid I don't blame you, I thought I knew it all when I was 18 too, it took some real life experience to realize how little I do know!
  8. I hope they do another full season, the show is 10x better than most shows on television right now and the finale was great
  9. Slime green International/?? Saulsbury I think
  10. Looks like a scene light
  11. Second axle helps with braking and the weight of a 100' heavy duty pre piped aerial
  12. I'll chime in, but I only had a brief stint on 10 South White Street before greener pastures (and fatter paychecks) called me away. Met a lot of great people there and when I look back on it I forget the bad times and remember the good ones. Football games, Beekman, Pawling, Putnam, Irene the Marine and 3A to Millbrook P1's are the best
  13. A couple of guys from here went up for this, I wish I could have made it but that's obviously not in the cards for me. So sad. Rest in peace men.
  14. Wouldn't expect it until September
  15. I believe Hughsonville's new boat can up in Dutchess
  16. Hate to pile it on here, but I have seen a lot of guys get white knuckles and "sirencide" just from playing with the lights and sirens...playing Pantera is definitely not going to help you make a complete stop at all intersections and proceed in a safe manner.
  17. Saw this on 9W today. Looks great
  18. Hey thanks for posting this, I needed it. Anyone know of any continuing education on weekends or evenings? Maybe something ran by an organization besides NYS that would count? I need to keep my CCT but I don't have any time off at work to make day classes.
  19. Just out of curiosity why wasn't Engine 3 first due?
  20. Nice guys! I umpired the game with the come from behind walk off base hit haha
  21. Seems like a Connecticut thing, I've seen the state police with the same thing constantly illuminated.
  22. Good luck to the Alamo people. I went through a change like this at my former job and while we all hit the panic button, those of us who stayed had it a lot better with the new company.
  23. I agree that this is not even close to a career academy, but I do think that it should be the minimum for interior firefighter, plus a few other classes like FAST and survival. In fact, the way it's phrased it doesn't make sense to have three established standards and yet require none of them for vulunteers. IMHO
