Writer: Pudge3311, Truck4, tbendick 2112hrs -Batt 1 confirming smoke in area asking for 5th engine, upon arrival confirming 10-29, working fire, in rear 3rd floor porch of 3 story frame. 2116hrs- B-1 rpts 10-30 for fire in walls of 3-story OMD. 2122hrs- 2nd Alarm transmitted (E-310, E-304; TL-75) 2125hrs- B-1 S/C additional truck (L-74) 2130hrs- Batt 1 advising fire in rear walls of 2nd floor, companies making progress. 2146hrs- Fire U/C. 2209hrs- Fire is out. Co's picking up.
  8. BFD, Yes, he was in Backdraft; he was the Engine 17 Chauffer(sp?), and I believe he was also on the job in the bronx working out of 89/50. Feel free to correct if im wrong.
  9. IMHO, no matter which manufacturer you go with there are going to be problems. They, fdny, will keep going through different Rescue pieces until they find one that presents the least problems. It is good to see that they are trying different manufacturers to solve this problem. I wouldnt be surprised if in the next few years you see five different Rescues as first due apparatus. Until they find something that is solid I think they will keep experimenting. Everyone has pros and cons but its hard to find something that fits into everyones perfect world.

  13. FDNY, Squad is first an engine company. They run medical calls and First due engine boxes.
  14. Dave, Just brings the point that EMS really is the red headed stepchild. I just wanted to make sure i didnt miss anything on it.
  15. Did anyone see anything on the tv or in the paper about the EMS awards dinner? I know news 12 covered the police awards. Maybe I just missed it.
  16. Eastchester Fire Dept is a combination dept. They run 4 Engines: Eng 27, 29, 30, 31 and 2 Ladders: Ladder 16 and TL 17. Reserve Engine 28 and I believe 32, Reserve Ladder 15, Squad Trailer, Car 2104; Volunteer Dep Chief, Car 2105-6; Maintainance, Car 2108 spare. Car 2102 is Duty Captain, officers on Both Trucks. Usual staffing is two men per rig, including a driver for the captain. They operate out of 5 Houses: Headquarters (Main St.): Eng 27, Car 2102 Tuckahoe (Behind Village Hall): Ladder 16, Reserve Eng 28 Bronxville (Midland Ave): Eng 29, Reserve Ladder 15 Chester Heights (Oregon Ave): Eng 30, Squad Trailer North End (Wilmont Rd, across from Lord and Taylor): Eng 31, TL 17, Reserve Eng 32. I believe I got it all down there.

Moderate front end damage to patrol car as well as moderate damage to civilian vehicle on drivers side. PO and civilian transported BLS, minor injuries.   24. It was disappointing, very disappointing. They simply rushed it together since the decision to end the show happened mid season and had to figure out how to end it. I think it would have been nice if they just finished the season and then tried to bring it back in a year or two after one of their other shows tanks. I mean seriously, isnt anyone sick of law and order? it can only last so long.
