With regret I post the passing of FF Mike Lamp of the Stewart Air Force Base FD,Mike known as "Lumpy" by many was a former member of the NY Air National Guard 105th Fire Department. He was also still working as a civilian Firefighter at the base. His untimely death will certainly leave a void @ Stewart FD.

I had the honor of having Lumpy work with me in the pits at the stock car races the last several years and he will be greatly missed by his friends and family. He was truly a gentle giant with a heart of gold, willing to give you the shirt off his back if he thought you needed it more than him. His dedicated service to his country and community as both a professional and volunteer firefighter was something that he was immensely proud of.
