"Irvington police this morning identified the injured officer as Luigi Osso, 31, a member of the department for the past two years.

They said he had sustained "severe head trauma and serious injuries to his entire body," and had already undergone several surgeries at Westchester Medical Center, where he is listed in critical but stable condition."

Wishing Officer Osso a speedy and total recovery and hoping that his family finds comfort from the members of the emergency services community holding both Officer Osso and them in their prayers. Regardless of the uniform we are all one family.
