Apparatus Profile - Dover 36-14

28 posts in this topic

Today I took my kids to the park in Wingdale to launch model rockets (BIG fun..until they float into the woods or a pond on the way down...$$$$), but the park was closed for day camp, giving us an hour and a half to kill. Our Station 2 is adjacent to the park, is we "hung out" there...and the kids wanted to wash a fire truck, so we did...and I took a pile of pictures!

Again - the screen on my camera is broke - so I was shooting blind, but they came out good.

The rig is a 2002 E-One / Saulsbury Rescue Pumper, but to BUFF me it's a SQUAD! This was really the first chance I have had to go through it and see what it carries, and man was I shocked! We have alot of equipment I didnt realize we had, so I am pretty pumped..now to get familiar with operating it ALL.

We have been lucky in the past few years to not have many pin jobs or technical rescues, only a handful of door pops and one or two "involved" pins..most recently last year involving a propane truck and a car. BUT, it is nice to see we have this stuff ready to go. I would like to see this truck take on an expanded role on calls, and may just see that "someday"..(My "SOMEDAY LIST" is getting big..LOL)

I don't have the specifics of pump size, gallons, or amount of hose.

Anyways..on to the pics..

Starting with the cab, driver's seat;

Then to the backstep seat, driver's side.

This rig has seating for a driver, Officer, and four firemen.

Rear of the Squad;

Tool Kit

Dry Chems (BIG ones)

Electric reel and junction box

Other Misc Stuffs

I do NOT like the fact that the only hooks are on top of the rig, left side. Looks to be 8 and 10 footers...fiberglass handles. This truck needs 2 steel halligan roof hooks somewhere on board. And a stokes basket...

Also up top are 2 attic ladders and 2 lengths of suction

LOTS of stainless steel here..but it beats diamond plate.

Plaque featuring some pretty spectacular guys accounting for an amount of fireground experience of biblical propoertions. All but one are highly respected around here and the area..the other is no longer active.. :)

It has a 1250 or 1500GPM I have to many trucks with equipment/ pumps running through my head right now. Also 700 gals of water due to compartments and such. Also did you happen across the BAM BAM tool lol the paratec Precusive Rescue Tool ill drop a link in at the bottom for anyone intrested. The tool has been used for many intresting things such as trailer fires and I personal can opend a roof on a ford explorer during an extrication class.

As far as the stokes Most likely the reason for the not mounted to any of the rigs is because there is one on both ambulances so there is one on each end of the district.

Thanks!

Imagine what I could do with a real camera! LOL

On a side note - I think I am pretty well known as an E-One fan boy...I love 'em...BUT, the mirrors like the ones on this rig, our 13, and our ladder - SUCK BALLS! I hate 'em! The shake and vibrate when you are backing up...BADLY! Poor design IMO...

What about ground ladders? Didn't see 'em, or anyplace where they are hidden. I get that it's a rescue pumper, but it's still an engine.

Looks like a well thought out rescue! Great photos for shooting blind, or not. I found what was missing, I guess your department doesn't want the officer touching the siren, LOL
