Pete Becerra, Westchester County DA's Senior Investigator, and brother of Joe Becerra New York State Police investigator and Frank Becerra, longtime Reporter-Dispatch Fire/Police/EMS photographer and ex-chief North White Plains FD and member of Brewster FD is in need of assistance.

10-13 Fundraiser-Officer Needs Assistance

Senior Investigator Peter Becerra

Pete Becerra has been courageously battling cancer since 2010. Pete is a 17 year veteran

criminal investigator with the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office and most recently

was assigned to the Joint Terrorist Task Force and worked closely with the Federal Bureau of

Investigation. Pete has spent many years dedicated to protecting the people in the

Westchester community and now it is time to help him and his family.

Peter lost his battle with cancer over the weekend.

Peter graduated from Archbishop Stepinac High School in White Plains and served in the US Coast Guard after college. Peter went on to work for the Loudoun County Sheriff Office attaining the rank of Sergeant. In 1995 Pete and his family moved to White Plains where Peter worked for the Westchester County District Attorney's Office as a Criminal Investigator for 17 years. Peter was recently promoted to Senior Investigator. He was assigned to Homeland Security and the FBI Joint Terrorist Task Force.

Visitation will be on Sunday 5-9 PM, Monday 2-4 & 7-9 PM Funeral Mass Tuesday 11:00 AM Our Lady of Sorrows Church. Interment to follow at Mt Calvary Cemetery.

Very sorry for your family's loss Frank, I didn't know your brother but by all accounts it sounds like he was a great cop and a great person. May he Rest in Peace. My thoughts and prayers are with you, your family and his Brothers and Sisters at the DA's Office and the JTTF.

Sincere condolences to the Becerra family, and very sorry Pete did not live long enough to see the people that would have showed up for the fundraiser and in physical and moral support. The whole family has served others well, from the sounds of it, and they and his FD and Law Enforcement family are in our prayers and thoughts in their time of mourning.

Pete was laid to rest today in a beautiful and fitting ceremony! RIP Pete! See everyone at the 10-13! June 10th at Vintage.
