1958 Oshkosh W-Series  All-Wheel Drive. Probably had a Hercules motor.  The trucks were some of the most popular, toughest beasts ever built, workhorses in the mid-1900's, and often worked for decades in multiple different heavy duty type uses, building and maintaining this country. They were worked until they were dead, picked for parts, or rotted away. Very few remain.
 
I think this may have been a project by former DPW Commissioner Bud Nicoletti. I know he drove it in a few parades.
 
I'd love to see photos of the Yonkers trucks or any of these model and era of trucks that served the municipalities of Westchester.

I really like that Jersey City Enforcer, and that Ascendant seems to be set up nicely. Miami looks very traditional and classy, and that blacked out ladder truck is very unique and sharp.

Apparently, there will be a Mexico-based fire truck manufacturer displaying this year. I've never heard of them until seeing the ad in Fire Engineering this evening.

-REV Group acquires another manufacturer (Possibly Marion?)
-Pierce Introduces several new configurations for the Ascendant Aerial
-We find  out more about Spartan ERV and Smeal, and what product lines will be affected
-Rosenbauer Avenger positive feedback
-Scott Safety introduces innovative or a bunch of innovative items
-Sutphen 100' Rear Mount with no tank or pump
-E-One new cab option?
-Ferrara brings it's first tiller from Ashburn VA to display
-Seagrave?
-KME?

Its a 75' Scope on a Simon-Duplex Chassis and with Saulsbury body.  2/3 companies no longer exist.

What a crime that White Plains (NY) DPW is selling this! It's in great condition, and doesn't require much attention aside from being garaged and routine maintenance from what I understand. A great public relations tool that should have been held on to! The opportunity to own this piece of history is a once-in-a-lifetime thing. I hope it's not because no one took pride or care if it. Now, this very well may end up at Brookfield being torn apart for scrap.

I think the more important thing is....will it carry on Hartsdale's solid all lime green paint job (My preference), or will a solid red paint job win out?
 
I'm told Hartsdale committee members were checking out this rig amongst others at the Long Island show.  This truck is owned by Atlantic Hook And Ladder of Port Washington FD. It's a 2016 Spartan ERV 93', the model Hartsdale is going with.

You could pretty much replace "Westchester County" in the title of this thread with any other jurisdiction in the US and this would still be accurate.

 
That's the rumor currently being kicked around. Nothing concrete from a valid source yet.

One of LAFD's new Pierce tillers, part of a 10 year contract for 40 of them.
 
Of the seven that have been delivered so far, none have accepted for delivery, and one was put into service for about a day and then returned to the dealer. The trucks are having numerous issues, and quite possibly will be sent back to Pierce in Wisconsin to deal with the issues. The trucks have been sitting at the dealer for several months now.
 

Next up is LA City FD's Fast Response 20, a 2015 Ram 5500 4x4.  It's a Brush Truck, Paramedic Flycar, and a manpower squad rolled up into one.  It operates during peak times. Read more about this unique unit:  http://www.lafd.org/news/lafd-unveils-innovative-fast-response-vehicles
