Ladder towers were used in medieval time to attack castles. Archers would shoot at the castle defender from the top. Game of Throwns starts soon. Tower Ladders are the safest type of ariels in the fire service. Rearmount ladders are unpredictable and have been known to hit firefighters in the head while operating at fires.

Here what I learned from all this. greenwich is trying to expand its ranks and build a new firehouse. Good for the guys in Greenwich. Dixie is annoyed that Seth posted a link to the article.

Besides its clear to me the guy on the ground ladder swung his head into the aerial. The ladder was placed OOS until inspected for damage. Firegrounds are dangerous we should use more caution while operating. I'm glad all are OK

That's why left side pedestals are better. He would of been able to see the guy. One day departments will wake up

What if one day the religion symbol on the apparatus is not yours? Maybe it will be a phrase that most on here might find offensive. Then what?

The Vulcan decree is what made the written test pass/fail and the physical agility graded. It was this that made it almost impossible for a woman to get hired? How do you successfully change this? Go back to the days when both portions are equally weighted? things have come full circle in 33 years. Remarkable!

Can you explain how a "county run ""regional"" fire service" would be any different for Mt Vernon?
Do you think that the powers to be in Mt Vernon would agree to it. Or any other dept for that matter. The manpower may increase for the area. This by eliminating duplicate administrative postions. I haven't seen any cost analysist as to who would be paying what? My costs in New Rochelle may go up and I may lose coverage due to the redistricting of companies.
Everyone that would be in the plan would have to come to the table with an equal share of the costs to receive the benefits. Due you really think Mt. Vernon would ante up more for a county system??

Recently there was some back an forth between the union and the director (chief) about closing companies and a fatal fire. While reading about it I came across the boss's resume. Appears pretty light in the experience category. How does this relate? If the boss really had no use for working in the field it's hard to believe he will take any interest in what goes on there.
