I like you style. Throw in patches and stickers and we would have to beat them off with sticks.

As long as these don't involve Bohlmann with iron-ons again... That was painful to watch...

This is just another reason for me to justify hating politics. Serve 1 term, free healthcare for life, pension etc...
Someone who served this country before his [boehner] father was probably even born...
Oh, and according to Wikipedia, Boehner served a WHOPPING 8 Weeks in the USN before being honorably discharged. Yet a Vet who served before Television was invented cannot have Capitol Honors...

I have something that is worth posting here and is something I want all of you to read and really think about. This was forwarded to me by a friend. This was written by Meriden, CT, Battalion Chief Burdick.
These are words that I whole heartily beleive in and held true in my profession being a firefighter, from the time I started volunteering my service to my present career in the fire services. Next time when you use the term "Brotherhood" stop and think about it for a second and ask yourself how you use the term, live up to your actions, consider your self part of the Brotherhood. I see the term used often here, but are you truly in the brotherhood?
    Just think.

I finished it last night, more or less. There are a few more very minor details that I have to complete, but for the most part it's done.

I first had the pleasure of meeting John back in the mid 90s while working for the United States Postal Service in Poughkeepsie. He was working security at the RIP VAN WINKLE TOWERS on Rinaldi Blvd. He would let me into the lobby and would say if ever needed anything to let him know. He would then go back into the security office and watch the cameras or take a quick stroll outside. I found it funny such a mild mannered Cop was working one of the worse parts of the city and he always had a smile on his face. It is so ironic that 1 block from where I had the pleasure of meeting this man he is gunned down in the line of duty. You are a Heroic man Detective Falcone, that little girls family has you, and the City of Poughkeepsie Police to thank for saving her life. GOD SPEED BROTHER, GOD SPEED!

I think the same questions can be asked about slicktop vehicles. Quoting Bull McCaffrey are we trying to sneak up on fires? Slicktop vehicles were designed for law enforcement to be less visible to traffic violators.
With how low profile LED bars are today, I can't even see how much a slicktop vehicle adds to fuel economy.

I am still reeling over the events that have unfolded over the last 24 hours here in Poughkeepsie. I cannot even begin to express my sympathy, and sorrow, for the families of the slain officer, both his blood, and professional families. You are all in my thoughts.
To all the brothers and sisters in the City, my sincerest condolences. I am 100% certain that anything you need, you just ask, and we all will do, at the drop of a hat.
While I cannot officially represent everyone, from myself, at the least, your neighbor over at County.
Officer Falcone, I salute you. The true content of your character shines through the tragic outcome. Rest In Peace, you served faithfully, and have been taken to a higher calling, and can now take your post.

    The Final Inspection"
The policeman stood and faced his God,
...Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining.
Just as brightly as his brass.
    "Step forward now, policeman.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My church have you been true?"
The policeman squared his shoulders and said,
    "No, Lord, I guess I ain't,
Because those of us who carry badges
    can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays,
and at times my talk was rough,
    and sometimes I've been violent,
Because the streets are awfully tough.
But I never took a penny,
    That wasn't mine to keep....
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
    And sometimes, God forgive me,
    I've wept unmanly tears.
    I know I don't deserve a place
    Among the people here.
    They never wanted me around
    Except to calm their fear.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
    But if you don't.....I'll understand.
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod.
    As the policeman waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
    "Step forward now, policeman,
    You've borne your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in hell."
