National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week 2016 will be, April 10-16. I hope that all Telecommunicators/Dispatchers get the recognition that they deserve during this time. We often get overlooked or forgotten about. Remember, we are the FIRST 1st Responders. 

 
Interesting concept.  To me it just seems like overkill for upfront expenses and maintenance, but if it works for them, cool.  Do you per chance know the reasoning for each officer to have his/her own personal vehicle?
 
And I really like North Port's K9 vehicle!  Especially the "WARNING K-9" on the rear doors.  It seems to me that it would give an extra pucker factor to anyone that saw this pull on scene.

An actual fly car is a non-transport capable vehicle, typically an SUV or pick up based vehicle and may be staffed with only one Paramedic.
 
The ambulance obviously would be transport capable and be staffed by at least an EMT and Paramedic.
 
There may be some minor differences in the quantities of some equipment carried.
 
Other than that, there's not much of a functional difference when intercepting a BLS ambulance.  However, if the BLS unit fails to respond, you would be able to transport the patient if using an ambulance.

As I recall Providence Fire and their Health and Safety group of their Union was on the forefront of ensuring firefighters and fire victims were evaluated and treated for cyanide poisoning due to its presence in most structure fires. Hopes and prayers for the Capt and other Brother's at PFD. 

the chief made a policy.  chain of command.  it may be stupid but its something they should have talked to the chief and powers to be prior to bringing it to the media, now they will have a bigger issue.

The town gives HEMS money, they have a right to look at the financials, especially one providing  a critical service to the town. If you accept money from the Town, then that's how it goes. If HEMS is confident in their finances, then there shouldn't be an issue right? You understand how that looks? I'm not trying to defend anyone or their actions, just trying to look at this objectively.
 
 
That's not how it works. The town would have to issue an RFP, Empress couldn't and wouldn't just give a "quote", and they haven't given Harrison anything.
 
And, if anyone remembers, Empress brought ALS to the Town Of Harrison and was the ALS provider for years.
