  1. I would assume that they will try an find a new partner. While they may not need to run medevac calls, I assume they will still be running as a rescue helicopter doing hoist operations, since apparently the next closest equipped helicopter is NYPD. As far as I was aware, the mobile life crew members were trained in the hoist rescue, so that would mean that NYSP would need to add at least on additional crew member on the crew to operate the hoist, and in addition, I would think they'd want medical personel on a rescue helicopter.

NYPD is probably closest, but NJSP aviation is also capable of hoist operations on their new AW139's

  2. Ed, it looks like Jersey Plates, I am not sure who has this though.....

It is definitely NJ plates. I see similar trucks to this on Rt 95 approaching the GWB. I'm not sure who operates it, but I have a feeling they run between Teterboro Airport and NYC pretty often.

  3. Dropped off one of our engines at Ferrara in NJ this past Monday and took some pictures of the rear mounts that are getting their final touches. Beautiful trucks and extremely well planed and thought out.

I think you passed me on the way there, I was wondering where the Engine was going. I was in my patrol car sitting on the shoulder of the highway in NJ, I think you had a department utility truck with you too. Nice pics.

  4. Scott,

I would have no problem if you posted your photos in this thread.

Thanks Kurt. I am a police officer in NJ, and on 9/11/01, myself and 3 other officers from my PD went to Ground Zero just after both towers fell. I grabbed a disposable camera before going down there, these are the pics I took.
