Are these units still operated by Aviation in the Bronx? Also, is Aviation currently disbanded?

Ladder 15 has been assigned to temporary Sta 6 with E 31 for the last year while Sta 5 undergoes renovation. L 15 has no working aerial, only ground ladders, TL 17 will not fit in temporary Sta. 6 About 3 months ago L 16 aerial broke and TL 17 was parked outside at Sta 2 in Tuckahoe (it does not fit inside). Since the cold weather has set in we have had to run TL 17 out of the repair shop at Sta.1 and have reassigned E 27 to Sta. 2 so that it can be inside also. Over the weekend, other equipment problems resulted in only a spare duty car with 2 firefighters assigned to Sta. 6. As of 4 pm today we are back to "normal" 4 Engs.; 1 tower ladder; 1 truck with no aerial.
Where is temporary station 6??

Not sure if you mean the police or fire training centers but you can probably request a tour of either.
914-231-1827 is the # for the police academy and 914-231-1615 is the number to the fire training center.
Thank you, few friends from jersey who at one point where in Volly departments are interested. They just didnt want to show up out of the blue.

Out of curiosity is it open to non emergency personnel?? meaning like to a buff or just anyone who is plain curious to see how everything works.

Th company placed OOS is Ladder 34 out of station 7 in the south end of the city. Rescue is manned 24/7/365, it was browned out after the layoffs in May of 2010, for a short time due to manpower issues.
So its closed on a full time bases or just browned out??

I believe some info on this rig was on here a while back. I think it was visible in a set of spy shots for another rig, and it was briefly mentioned, but again, that was a while back.
I'd imagine only when necessary, judging by the size of it. It most likely carries all of YPD ESU's special rescue equipment. I know that they do have a few smaller ESU trucks much like the NYPD's, so I'd assume they would be on the street all the time, and this rig only on special and/or large-scale incidents, perhaps sort of like Yonkers FD's Special Ops. Tractor-Trailer.
I believe it's the same truck, just pre-decaling and albiet the final touches in the top link photo.
Actually A Firefighter from Yonkers said he see the large one regularly at pin jobs.

Im going to go ot slightly. If im correct Engine 22 which is is part of the County Squad and is considered Squad 2, now again i might be wrong but when the need arises for the squad the truck company would jump into the engine and they would take the role as Squad 2. If ladder 12 does close what would happen to that??
-
ok so im still kinda still confused is ladder 12 closed for good,or just browned out?? i know the answer is in this topic but i have heard 2 diffrent things.
-
Silly question and sorry to ask this but are there going to be apparatus in the parade??
-
It just seems like a lot compared to the cities up this way.
Im assuming if this happens a Engine or Ladder is getting cut too??

Dont worry we didnt stay long, like you said in you other post a disappointment. Gonna get down earlier next year. Spent the remaining day in the city.

Cool! This unit has been talked about for a long time and delayed. I wonder if this is the one built by Seagrave?
