As I understand the situation, confirmed by EX-PGH and EX-TCNY employees. TC dissolved as a corporate entity under Chapter 7 bankruptcy and incorporated as Transcendent Transit I & II.  These corporations, in turn, ceased operations on Friday, 2/26/16, less than 36 hours after being formed.

That said, to the best of my knowledge (again, for transparency, I was the ALS Coordinator/QA & Safety Manager for TCML/Philadelphia), ALL TC assets have ceased to operate.  There are no functioning TC/TT divisions in NY, PA or MD.

If I'm wrong, please comment with corrections.  Additionally, please (PLEASE!!) give all the ex-TC employees all the support you can!

Empress was pretty busy in White Plains on their first day in the city, saw the fly car quite a few times and the ambulances going almost all day. Did Empress pick up the contract in White Plains or is it temporary ?

I notice fewer & fewer people using the "Like This" button, now of course everyone is not going to "Like" everything but consider the contribution the person made to the topic.
As an example if a person creates an "Incident Alert" and they really take the time to put some details in the story please consider giving them some credit. I have seen some people who no longer post them because it appears no one cares.
If people post some photos of an incident and you like them let them know by hitting that "Like" button.
Good conversation started or comments you agree with in a topic give them some credit hit the button.
    Just my opinion

This is what is wrong with the step child of emergency services. When any municipality puts EMS out to bid you do not get stability in service. Over the years every system goes through a cycle. The lowest bidder. Now most of the current EMS employees of TransCare NR will be looking to switch over to Empress. Thus losing seniority and pay grade. This is no way to maintain quality EMS personal.
EMS must be part of the municipality just as Police and Fire is. EMS must be the third service.

There will never be stability in EMS when there is a profit to be made.

I think this is a first up here to me at least although they mention they've been doing it for a while....but in Texas a lot of apparatus has been purchased using similar purchasing cooperatives for a long time now.. Source: http://www.nefea.com/news.aspx?id=1042

Never grow complacent. Keep learning. The only constant is change. Even the best tactics and procedures need to be reevaluated when the community changes.

Rest in Peace Brothers. We will not forget your sacrifice!

It is an excellent look at complacency, traditions, change and leadership.

I dont understand why they cant make the truck look different then the Ford pick up trucks that are out now.. The front and probably the back look exactly the same or similar. If its a different name it should have a different style.. (my .02)

The main reason that vendors do not bid is because it costs them $10,000-$20,000 just to put the bid in. If they feel they do not have a good shot at winning it, why throw your money away.
The main reason a vendor would feel they do not have a good shot is the Spec itself. For example if the bid required a Stainless steel cab, Smeal & Sutphen do not offer this. Same for the split tilt cab, etc.

Another great looking Maxim tiller. White Plains Ladder 1. I believe this pic was taken at a parade in Nassau County. I guess back in the day rigs from Westchester and Nassau would attend each other parades more then they do today. Love the "bubble" window in the tiller cab.

Station #4 also holds spare Engine 69
Station #5 no longer holds the volunteer Engine 210 it holds some police vehicles.

More and more depts are running Paramedic engines. With that said you need a bigger cab as the medical cabnet usual sits in the rear crew area. Also some depts have a small refrigerator for drugs that need to stay cool. That's were a custom cab comes in handy. Among many other reasons. According to NFPA.. it's $10,000.00 more to equip a commercial cab than a custom cab with the new requirements.

Commercial chassis in a city where run volume is higher, I wouldn't advocate for commercial and I see your point. I'm speaking more about smaller departments who's call volume is below 1,000. When the vehicle is being used a lot more frequently during the course of a normal day with higher response volume, inspection and training duties and all this often on rougher city streets with more time on the brakes, I think warrants a more expensive custom chassis.

Let me help you guys out alittle bit, when Sleepy Hollow when to start developing on the GM lot Tarrytown made a big stink that it would cause a massive increase in traffic and they went to court that was 2 years ago. Finally after the court decided it was crazy they threw the case out. Now they are dredging out the riverside to remove contaminated soil once the soil is removed building can start.

I wonder why they don't have the chasis shipped to Pierce, them build it, and ship it back. Probaly cheaper just to ship the body there, but I wonder what problems may arise at the end assembly.
