Same thing they were thinking when they merged the Sheriff's office, and the Fire Department.

We send one tanker, which has a Class A pump, with Three Interior Guys, Nothing more. Sometimes (because we have more interior guys) we are called as RIT... but that is rare.

I like how much attention something bad gets.... However a picture of a few guys in correct PPE working and MVA or a Fully involved structure hardly gets this much attention...

Wow. That's just plain stoooopid. Doesn't matter where it's from. The ONLY way that it would be okay (and just on the front of playing with electricity) is if there were power guys that they were operating with who told them face to face that the power was off. But even then, it's still not the best of plans. The fire doesn't need to be put out. Where's it gonna go?
But hey, at least they are wearing the federally mandated vests. They apparently made it to THAT class.

Well that was exactly my point. I'm not talking about preventing the wildfires, that's not possible or desirable; brush was built to burn in conditions like this, it's nature's way. My point was better environmental engineering, so that a brush fire can be left to burn unfought without endangering structures. If you have a big enough firebreak and suitable building materials that won't go up from embers landing on them, a brush fire doesn't need to result in lost structures.

I'm waiting to see it as a plow truck (they have a package specifically for that) and as a heavy wrecker. I'm sure we will see some fire apparatus on this chasis, but it may be too heavy duty for standard use.
From what I have learned, they made this truck to compete with the Mack Granite, International Paystar, and the supposedly coming soon CAT Vocational Chasis. (Personal note-nothing will ever trump a Mack)
