This is one of the better tributes. It is a reminder of what happened that day.
It reminds us that despite what the politicians say, there is still pure evil in this world.
In addition while it was one of the worst days in history, it was also one of our best. We came together like I have never seen before or since. Unfortunately it took the lives of almost 3000 martyrs to do it.
Say a prayer for those who were murdered that day.

Me thinks you watched too many episodes of the Andy Griffith show on TV. Mayberry only exists on TV in the 60s..Everyone encountered by the police reacts differently. However, you pick up on one thing that is correct; The perp does have a lot of control over what happens to him. If he submits than there should be no further use of force. If he fights then the police have an absolute right to defend themselves. What happened before the video starts is irrelevant with one exception: the subject was going to be arrested. Once the subject started to resist, the use of force by the troopers went up as the resistance on the part of the subject increased. But the amount of forced used increased only to the extent needed to overcome the amount of resistance on the part of the subject. Further, the video shows that the use of force stopped when the suspect stopped using force on the troopers. If you consider these officers to be Super Troopers jacked-up on Mountain Dew then it appears that you may have spent too long in Colorado.

What I find to be the most disturbing is the title of this thread “Montrose Beat down and Tasting” . .
Clearly there was no beating on the part of the troopers. But even when you use the minimum amount of force necessary to quell the situation, someone will try and escalate the situation and prompt a trial by headline.

It is also quite possible that they landed at Stewart and started the motorcade from there. Whole lot easier to lock down a base that already is gated than to land somewhere like HPN. And seeing as Stewart is within the coverage area of MLSS, that would be the point of origin for the call, and well, you can figure the rest out.
I've also worked for agencies that have been part of the presidential motorcade in the past. The members who were part of the motorcade were vetted by secret service well ahead of time, and they were detailed to the motorcade while it zipped ALL over upstate NY on a campaign junket.
And lastly, do you really think that the secret service cares about CON issues? Or that if NYS DOH/EMS showed up in his state issued SUV and told them that they needed to suspend their motorcade because, well, that um ambulance at the back of the, um motorcade isn't licensed for this area that they would?

Probably right around the time Al Sharpton became a Constitutional scholar. I'm a small government conservative myself, but lets be honest; neither stop and frisk (which used to just be called the Terry Stop) nor the DoD's surplus acquisition programs, are harming anyone's liberty.
Its the same argument that I make regarding the Second Amendment. Having a gun doesn't make you a bad guy or a tyrant, that comes from the way in which it is used.

In the 5th picture, on the drivers side, there is a large drum with a pump and hose attached. Is that to spray Vaseline on the rig to get out?
By the way Boston has a station (not sure of the number) that is a landmark and they can't modify it. It stations a ladder and engine that have to be custom made due to the inability to modify the bays. Some times you are stuck between a rock and a hard place. Can't get a smaller engine and can't modify the building. Get out the Crisco and hope for the best.

In NYS "Authorized Emergency Vehicles" have official official plates issued but are not required to display them. As the plates do not expire or have to be renewed. they do not have a window sticker like a normal registration.
career or Volunteer it does not matter. Its up to the department to display the assigned "Official" or a custom plate.

Gloves, We don't need no stinking gloves. If you were a wussy you had a pair of bright orange ones.
Coats were made of Cotton Duck with silver reflector stripes, Nomex was unheard of (still have that coat).
Riding the back step up 684 to the Katona Parade waiving to the people in cars. (The new guys were forced to ride in the hose bed.)

So you take one physical fitness test and you are good for 20+ years. Cash in the pocket of your loved ones should you die, Health benefits paid for. You are a perfect example of why the fire service is going down the tubes. Not a mention of training, having a desire to be in the fire service, wanting to learn and teach those younger than you. BTW your last sentence is apparently a bash at volunteers, and I and many of my brothers respond day and night along with weekends! I would rather crawl down a hall with a younger volunteer fresh out of FF 1 and 2 than some of the career guys who have been holding on for 30+ years without doing a sit up.
