  1. Call for "odor of gas" came in around 4:30 PM EST. FF, PD, DPW and gas company were on scene at the time of the explosion. Reports are that multiple FF, PD, DPW and civilians injured, no reported deaths.

  2. I believe it should be postponed or cancelled as well. I am not a resident of NYC, but I would be livid to see resources going to a sporting event while my neighbors are without essentials like water, food, shelter and security.

I understand the need to "get back to normal" and the economic boost, but when hotels are housing victims, and PD/FD/EMS have their hands full, majority of gas stations closed, neighborhoods haven't seen City officials, relief agencies or the National Guard, having such an event is ridiculous.

If the volunteers want to make a difference, there are plenty of shelters that need help and thousands of elderly residents that are stuck in high-rises without a way to get groceries and staples without working elevators.

  3. Nice looking rig!

A couple question if you don't mind:

    1) Was there an option for an extended cab for more leg room (not a 4-door like FDNY)

    2) With this chassis choice, what is the difference in load height (for the strecher) versus the E-series (non 4WD) Ford chassis? The 4WD chassis here looks pretty low, it has a real nice stance and appears to be a reasonable height.

    3) Is that a camera in the patient compartment?

  4. After a certain number of repeats, say 3 in a 30 day period, the establishment should get a visit from the building inspector and the fire marshall. Why not address the problem? Obviously there is a problem. If the local governemnt or FD keeps fining the owner/management, they might be inclined to fix it, but probably not and will just pay the fine.

  5. Doesn't look like they had that much snow either. Hope you had a good time regardless.

As for the runaway pits, they have them in the east. There are a few on Rt 9 between Bennington, VT and Wilmington,VT in east and westbound. I think I have seen the elsewhere, but I can't recall off the top of my head.

Who manufactured the two Eagle County ambulances?

Power shut down in the Back Bay area so BPD could fight transformer fire on Scotia/Dalton Street. (reported 4-alarms)

Several high-rise buildings and large hotels without power.

    Thankfully the weather is mild.

I was dining in a restaurant when the power went out. We were amongst the fortunate and had been served before the power went out.

A couple hours earlier, BFD was fighting a two-alarm fire on Haviland Street, just blocks away.
