    2nd Alarm:
    White Plains - E-66

    Relocations:

    Pelham Manor - TL-3

To answer your question, i will let the rundown speak for itself. And you are correct i say the same thing, there are many department's closer than Larchmont or Pelham.

Anyone have a run down of what departments/ units responded to this?
Also do the combination departments in Westchester have a policy against calling volunteer departments for mutual aid? I'd imagine Arsdley would have gotten to this quicker with more manpower than Larchmont or Pelham.

Sadly this type of responses happen far too often. We have a very detailed guideline that requires that you truly need to use lights and sirens or respond in any manner outside of normal traffic, while others immediately around us have the opposite policy: respond Hot unless directed otherwise, and then only by your own Chief. We hear Chiefs running sirens to wires down, bark mulch fires, you name it, embarrassing.

Chances may have gone up if you're one of the individuals the city prefers, everyone else will be out of luck again.

See you've been a member of this site since 2007, yet I don't see a single incident posted under your account. Why not contribute ?
I used to contribute incident alerts on occasion, but really don't have the time to sit and listen to the scanner for hours on end anymore.
Being that most of these incidents are now instantly posted up on Facebook these days, whats the incentive for users to spend hours listening to an incident rather than spending time with their families or other hobbies just so grateful users like yourself are satisfied ?

No, they should be giving interviews to those who originally earned them. Not illegally throwing out a test to fit the city's agenda.

I think we're all on the same page here about departments abusing mutual aid so I won't even touch that. But this quote is what worried me the most.
Really? I had no ideas fire worked that way. Apparently if a fire occurs in one town that makes it less likely for there to be another fire elsewhere. Amazing.

The real question that needs to be asked is this, "Is it really MUTUAL AID? The definition of MUTUAL is "reciprocal", or to make it more simple, party one helps party two when party two needs help and party two helps party one when party one needs help and it is done on a more or less equal basis. So, my question is, does anyone know how often Mount Vernon responds Mutual Aid to Yonkers compared with how often Yonkers responds Mutual Aid to Mount Vernon? And if Mount Vernon does respond Mutual Aid to Yonkers, does it do so with a similar complement of equipment and manpower? and does it do so with similar frequency?
If there is NOT reciprocity, if it is all one way with Yonkers responding to Mount Vernon but never the other way around, then perhaps Yonkers should consider terminating any agreement it has to respond into Mount Vernon.
There is a growing problem across the country of understaffed departments counting too much on mutual aid plans for coverage and then not being able to fulfill their half of mutual aid when the other department really needs mutual aid.
