Hey everyone! Hope all is well in the EMTBravo Community and the East Coast. Figured I'd give a lil update from my area here in good old Texas lol. Today a couple of our guys and myself went out to pump test our 2 newest trucks. Figured while we were out there I'd snap some photos
E-1 is a 2013 Pierce Velocity 2000gpm / 750gal. Dual Foam A/B with CAFS. This is our first CAFS truck. We also got the TAK4 front susepension . All Whelen series lighting and a Wilburt Nightscan light tower on the cab roof and a remote operated deck gun. Alot of other goodies on this truck too.
T-9 is a 2013 Peterbuilt / Pierce 1265gpm / 2100gal. All Whelen lighting side and rear cameras.

The Captain was wrong but I'd be willing to bet that the videographer is a bug and they've had problems with him before...

Bad, this just looks bad. The Capt. was wrong in his delivery of a need to back away.....if that need even existed. Seemed plenty far, but thats just me. People with cameras are the WORST, but they're within their rights, as long as they're our of your way. All we can do is look our best being professional.

Yes, the Captain. Not the guy filming. He was polite and respectful. There was NO good reason for him to ask the guy to stop filming, or to tell him to leave. It only got worse from there.
Smile and wave, you're a public servant on camera. Act professionally and carry on with your work. If you want, ask for guidance from higher ups about people filming. Pretty sure they'll tell ya to ignore the cameras and go about your work.
Instead, you're now on the news making the fire service look fantastic!

When I was a road boss, I was called to the scene of a simple auto accident by a police officer who had an un-usual circumstance:
The officer was dispatched to a non injury accident to file a report. It was determined that one of the drivers had a suspended license (for failure to answer a summons). The subject had his mother-in-law in the car whom he transporting to work. As the mother in law did not have a license, the officer instructed the arrested subject that he was going to tow the vehicle. He would arrange for a cab to take the mother in law home or to work. The subject was given his Miranda warnings, frisked and handcuffed. The subject asked to speak to his mother in law before being transported to police HQ. The two then had a conversation in Italian. The subject was secured in the radio car and the officer kept a close watch over the mother in law. The officer then requested a supervisor to the scene.
The unknown to the two, the officer spoke Italian. The conversation consisted of the subject telling his mother in law to take the gun from under the driver’s seat and put it in her handbag. Upon arrival, the officer advised of the events and was unsure of we could conduct a warrantless search under the conditions. Under the circumstances I advised that the search would be valid and we then confronted the mother in law and she surrendered her handbag. In her bag was a loaded .38 caliber revolver.
The subject was advised that we had recovered the handgun and would be arresting both parties. The subject denied any knowledge of the firearm and wanted to know how we found it. The officer told him in Italian what he said to his mother in law. The expression on their faces was priceless.
Both subjects were booked and the DA accepted all of the charges. The defendant was offered a chance in court to admit the gun was his and the charges against his mother in law would be dropped. He declined.
As a side note, I received a phone call at the booking desk from the subject’s wife. I was expecting her to tear my head off for having her mother arrested. She never addressed the issue, she wanted to know what gives us the right to arrest her husband. Thinking that he had not told her what had happened, I filled her in on the days events. Her reply was “Big deal, everyone in the Bronx carries a gun”! My only reply was “this isn’t the Bronx” !

I saw this bus yesterday on the Post Road in Eastchester, being escorted by a pilot car with a height warning stick. It was headed towards White Plains.

It's an actually public transit bus used in London. It was BRAND new, and loaded with cool features. It's manufactured by The Wright Group, and operated by Arriva, who is similar to what Liberty Lines is here.

It was TALL, much taller then the double decker tour buses in NYC, hard to appreciate in the photo.

It was here for Prince Harry's visit, but is sticking around to show itself off to many interested governments. Wonder where it's next stop will be.

Appears Eastchester PD has taken delivery of two new Dodge Chargers and two new Ford Police Interceptors (old style) with a new paint scheme.

What would Islam do if it were an American who committed a terrorist act in a Muslim Country? I think it would look something like: Hang him by his feet from a crane in a public place, light him on fire and mail the video to Al-Jazeera.

This weekend Metro North, as part of its year celebration of the 100th Anniversary of Grand Central Terminal held a Parade of Trains. Various locomotives and cars that have been used in the past by predecessor railroads such as the New York Central railroad, and equipment used today were on display.
First up was this Electro Motive Diesel FL-9, ordered by the New Haven Railroad in 1960. It was painted into New York Central colors in 1999 to celebrate 150 years of the Hudson River Railroad. It was retired in in 2000 and donated to he Danbury Railway Museum

Next was ACMU 1171 Air Conditioned Multiple Unit, originally ordered by the New York Central in 1962 from the Pullman Standard Co.

Th ACMUs were retired in 2004. Here is a view of the operators controls, which seem primitive when compared to todays equipment
