As mentioned, be honest. The written exam is the usual 1200 questions, many of which are asked repeatedly, or worded very closely to each other. You really cant lie on it. From there you will sit down with a psychiatrist who has reviewed your written exam, and ask you questions based on that. During my interview they asked numerous times how much I drank alcohol, which back then wasn't much (2 kids under 2 didn't leave much time to drink.) Do not get offended by their questioning. Remain calm, and if questioned on something, explain what happened. I know someone who cursed out the psychiatrist during the interview and failed on that alone.
With the T-shirt nonsense, and other BS that goes on with the JOB, it is what it is. Cops are never happy, and the job tends to overreact with certain things. In a few months they will find something else to harp on, and you will see t-shirts again. For a while they made a big deal about visible tattoos (those hired after 2007 if IIRC) have to keep them covered with clothing or a wrap that is close to the color of your skin, now not so much. Right now in the Transit Bureau the big thing is Metrocards, swipe going to post, on post, before a train run, after a train run, to meal, from meal, on a directed patrol, swipe everywhere you go, even answering a job. they are trying to track us via the Metrocard. It was tried once before, and was a hot topic for a month or two. Every job has its share of BS, even up here in the burbs.
Good Luck with the psych. Best advice I got, take every civil service test you can. PD and FD, even if you have no shot of getting hired (for example Yonkers even if you are a non-resident). Every test is a practice for you, and you will get a feel for how the exam process works. There is only so many ways they can ask questions. After a while taking the tests you become more relaxed with it. I know when I took the FDNY test in 1992, I was nervous as hell, by the time I took the NYPD exam in 1998 I was real calm. In between I took Stamford, CT PD & FD, Mt Vernon PD &FD, Yonkers PD & FD, Westchester County towns and villages PD & FD, plus filed for a bunch of jobs in upstate NY that were given on the same day (all taken right here in Westchester). After a while all the questions were familair.

E481 set up the LZ under the command of Cars 3 & 4 at a near-by shopping center parking lot.
E479 remained at the accident scene while NWPD conducted their investigation. R480 took-up and went back in service.

I was in Virginia Beach a few years ago. Nice town, has a large tourist focus and also a large military presence. I was staying across the street from the Station Landing station and went over one evening. They had a nice modern fleet at the time and from reading in FAJ they seem to have kept that up. This station had a really nice training set up out back. I believe EMS at the time was provided by a combination paid/volunteer staff, but don't quote me on that, and not sure how it is now. Plus the view isn't bad down there! Might be worth looking into if you can.

There are a variety of potential charges. As ny10570 already noted, Obstructing Governmental Administration and Obstructing Firefighting Operations are possible. Other potential charges couuld also exist depending on the circumstances.
There is no "freelancing" charge in the law, perhaps we should propose that though!
As for the "please leave". If the police or fire department say "please leave" to someone on an emergency scene, that constitutes an official order and there's no defense. The "Good Samaritan Act" defends people against civil action for intervening before responders arrive. The GSA doesn't protect someone if they're interfering with responders on scene or purporting to be something that they're not.

That certainly may be the case. But I personally won't vilify these bystanders for doing what they thought was right. They followed their instincts and a certain degree of human nature and attempted to help those in need, when no others could. I'm willing to bet that good Samaritans, over time, have done far, far more good than harm.

Kyle, you asked for more pictures of Middletown Springs apparatus, so here ya go. I apologize for taking so long to post them. They were on my wifes computer and i forgot about them.
First up is MTSVFD's First Response vehicle, a 200? GMC Yukon. Ambulance coverage into Middletown Springs is provided by the Poultney Rescue Squad. MTSVFD responds to all medical calls in MTS with this BLS fly-car.

Here is just another picture of Middletown Springs "new" ladder truck.

This is their rescue, which is on a 4x4 Chevy 5500 chassis. I am not sure who the body was built by. This rig was purchased pre-owned a couple of years ago.

This is their Attack truck, a Pierce on a Dodge Powerwagon chassis.

    Another shot of their Rescue.

Here is a shot of their ETA-531, a VTEC on Freightliner chassis. Sorry for the bad shot, was taken in the bay.

The only rig missing is their ETA-532, which is on a 1970's(?) Chevy chassis if i remember correctly. It is kept in a very tight bay and getting a shot of it was near impossible.

1530hrs-While en-route to a wires down call, VGFD Car-2 came accross an MVA involving 2 SUVs. 1 SUV was on its side w/(2) persons still inside, while the other SUV was resting on top of the 1st, spproximatley 6 feet off the ground.
E478 was responding to the wires down call, but was re-directed to the MVA. R480 signed on responding moments after dispatch.
E478 arrived and its crew assesed the scene and used hand tools and a windshield cutter to remove the (2) persons from the SUV that was on its side. An 1 3/4" handline was stretched as a precaution for the duration of the operation.
E479 signed on responding, but was re-directed to the wires down call.
R480 arrived on scene and put the rescue-jacks into operation to secure the suspended SUV. Once that vehicle was made safe, members assisted EMS in removing the driver to a backboard.
Once all persons were removed from the vehicles and equipment was picked up, R480 returned to quarters. E478 remained on scene until the Tow operators removed the vehicles.
