  1. this vehicle screams inaccurate replica everywhere to the common NY eye.. surprised they even cared...
  2. do LaCounty LAFD run 24hrs on a street corner? just curious ive never been out there...i know the "rescue squads" have stations they quarter in.. i think??
  3. on the topic of NEW Vehicles.... the FDNY has been moving forward with the purchasing of new vehicles.. as a member i can safely say the flow of new vehicles is great.. but here are a few insights...... The 4D Dodge is convenient for the members to ride in and store equipment but the problem still remains The Dodge Motor has not been standing up to the abuse of 24hr work... the NEW Fords have been decent to work with. no major issues to report yet.... the rumor of internationals is actually about 90% true they have been spec. ing a new international but it will be strictly designed for RESCUE Medics. since they carry additional fed. funded equipment... Basically The GOAL of the city is to finally REPLACE all the old 2man stretchers work horses....
  4. The Vehicle used in Suffolk County is not part of the METU Program... suffolk has a MERV (Major Emergency Response Vehicle).. very similar to METU but slight changes to design... funny tho. they send the MERV to Major fires or below freezing weather. and ridiculously enough they wont allow FF on it to rehab... so basically serves "almost" no purpose...
  5. would be nice to see this around our area as the new WMC Children's Hospital Ambulance...
  6. So a group that I am part of has been tasked to purchase a new ambulance we have give or take 132, 000 to work with and perfer a Type-1... any suggestions for chasis and mod?
  7. To reply to all its mamaroneck village ems and the last two vehicles have given us great service but one needs to be replaced.. were looking at road rescue.. anyone have feedback regarding their type 1's
  8. idk call me old fashioned i just dont see them as being practical...im used to seeing medics roll up in either a bus or an suv... idk how it will do on the yonkers pothole filled streets or coming off a sidewalk... just another fancy attention grabber.... almost as useful as CityWide's Presidential Ambulance....idk i guess good luck and hope it goes well..
  9. As Many of you have heard FF/EMT Matt Oliveri has passed away. This Thread is a condolence card reaching out to the brothers and sister's of his Emergency Services Family and his Personal Freinds and Family. RIP MATT YOU WILL BE MISSED BY MANY AND ALL. SEE YA ON THE OTHER SIDE BROTHA.
  10. Let's look at places like Port Chester .. its an up and coming rescue company.... The company encourages and helps their members gain access to many state courses.... Like any other volunteer dept. You must start with basics... FF1/2, Survival with FAST, AVET, RTB,HazMat Ops ( I believe this is the Minimum that they want) which opens the door to Confined space, collapse rescue, And more specific specialty training.... They try and work with what their given every volunteer fire depts financial strains...
  11. ok so even our FDNY Ambulance for the President isn't even this tricked out... lol and thats The Presidents Bus.... i mean common have people hit the low point its an EMERGENCY VEHICLE not the HILTON... its ideas like this that lead the public to believe we as EMS workers will do anything for them like make them a sandwich or slice their steak....
  12. that looks like the old E-193 from Rye FD
  13. R2-D2 WINS THE BEST RESPONSE LOL... AWESOME.... BUT YEA IVE NEVER SEEN THAT BUS MOVE..
  14. boy oh boy... im glad i took vacation days...
  15. Is there any curriculum or classes offered to local Fire Dept.'s and EMS Agencies by WCDES regarding technical rescues called "Space Cases"? Space Case referrers to a term used by the city for a person Pinned between a train and a platform... ive gone through a chunk of the training myself, but was wondering if it was or could be offered at WCDES.
  16. Now with this whole pin door indicator system... are they still able to roll out to calls with the back doors open.. like previous rigs.... I kinda see it as a tradition lol...
  17. ahh see i knew i was a little rough on what the terminology applied too.. thanks for clearing that up.. working for ems we got the lecture portion of the training and a very brief overview on how it works didn't really get too hands on with it... im pretty sure that my volly FD could use this training if it was offered...
  18. heres what this type of pin looks like.
  19. would this be the metro north king st. lot or the electricians supply store(currently)
  20. GOOD JOB TO ALL.... HECTIC SCENE AT FIRST... SIZE UP WAS AS BEST AS IT COULD BE GIVEN THE CONDITIONS.. ONCE PROGRESS WAS MADE ON BASEMENT SECOND FLOORS FIRE WAS WELL CONTAINED.. AND MANY THANKS TO ALL THE BROTHERS AND SISTERS PAID AND VOLUNTEER WHO RESPONDED... SHOWS THAT DEDICATION HAS NO TEMPERATURE..

  25. If youre looking to get started or just plain looking into the ePCR systems i reccomend contacting the head individuals who got their own programs started with such agencies as... 1. Town of Mamaroneck Ambulance District (mamaroneck ems and larchmont vac)-contact the district supervisor 2. Port Chester EMS (port chester, rye, rye brook)- contact the chief 3. Harrison EMS (harrison, purchase, west harrison)- contact the Cheif...not to mention they very recently started this program so this would be a good choice to contact. 4. Stamford EMS (stamford)- contact supervisor 5. Empress EMS (commercial transport and 911 service)- contact main office for info. in addition if you do decide to travel this ePCR route...bare in mind your personel will need to practice on them at least for a month or so..it takes some getting used to..(reccomending moc calls and such) get used to the system you will be using... not to mention the proccess for RMA's and cancelled jobs your still filling out about 25% of the ePCR. hope some of this info helps you along your way..
