Wait, what exactly did the officer do wrong? So he yelled at the kid... big deal. Little punk probably deserved it.

He engaged in reckless behavior by allowing himself to get that fat... he should be liable himself. Next time call Stiloski's instead of the Fire Department when you need to do HEAVY RECOVERY... haha. What a jerk.

Does Frank Beccera have an account on this site? Because he should, that man is probably accountable for 80% of our valuable information... Nice shots, I definitely enjoy PFP, good to see how things were done before I was around/in existance

Hey, you do what you can with the resources you have, and always keep help coming. Sounds like a legit plan to me, though I would prefer to have a backup team in place before making entry. I suppose its risk vs. benefit.

Not a bad looking rig... Do they get alot of collapse calls in O.W.L. or is this a predominantly mutual aid resource?

Not to hijack your thread John, but if there ARE any agencies in Western, CT that have swiftwater teams, I'm looking for one to join. I took the CT Fire Academy's Surface(Swift) Water Operational class, and had argueably a better time than I have in any other class, so if anyone could direct me to a volunteer team, I'd be much obliged.

Mutual's old CF Mack is GORGEOUS. I had the opportunity to get a close look at it during last year's Mt. Kisco parade, as one of our members was also a member of Mutual. A very well preserved piece.

New Fairfield CT (On the border with Putnam Lake, NY) does not have an official "team" but we are set up for ice rescue with "Gumby suits", a flat bottom boat, and an ice rescue sled, and most of our members are trained in-house for ice rescue.

The suspect is dead? Excellent. Street justice. Though I'm sure Sharpton is on the next flight to LA to protest something.

Wow, according to AP this is the first LODD for LAPD's SWAT Unit in the 27 years it has existed. My prayers to the family of the fallen Brother, and a speedy recovery to the injured officer. Any word on the scumbag perp? http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23045755/

Maybe The Departed 2? As much as I would love that to be true, I don't suppose it can be...

The Chief shouldn't be entering the structure when he/she arrives at a call, so he/she cannot declare the structure safe and the fire put out. Reasons: 2-in/2-out First officer on scene is IC, and should remain outside where he/she can direct incoming units.

Just wondering if you know why they have the dog pawprint on the pump panel area.

You Ulster guys, start spreading the word about the site! I want to hear more about whats going on where I grew up!

Getting rid of those rediculous school bus mirrors helps too.

Depends on the type of gun. I know Glocks can fire after being submerged, and I imagine others can as well.

I wasn't aware this was a for profit site... Either way, I think that by establishing this as a business, he can write off the site as a business expense on his taxes, therefore making it financially possible for Seth to run the old and new branches given his unfortunate work situation. This is just my assumption, correct me if I'm wrong Seth.

Apparently ALF has responded to some of the questions that are being asked of them as they enter the Chapter 11 process: http://cms.firehouse.com/web/online/News/A...s/46$58112

I would definitely agree that permission would first be required before someone in the media could cross the line. There are limitations to the press' rights. Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness... in order of importance.

I wish CT would pick up something like this... I want to take the FF Safety and Survival class, but I wasn't interior by the time my town had it. I don't want to go out and purchase an expensive bailout system without first understanding its limitations and what is/is not effective. Currently I carry just rope and a carabiner, but I'm looking for something that would require alittle less preparation in the event of a flashover/collapse/etc. Kudos to Spitzer and DOL for a very progressive FF Safety law, generally speaking you don't see that kind of forward thinking in government when it comes to public safety.

Rest in Peace Brother.

I dub thee the "Street sweeper"

Why the switch to all red? Safety? Asthetics? Anyway, the New Haven Line DEFINITELY needs the upgrade, I've had to ride it to/from school a few times, and to call it worn is an understatement. Anyone who has had to ride the South Norwalk to Danbury line has had the term worn re-defined.

Try out Haix. Decent pricing for leathers and a very comfortable boot. They also have a re-soleing program so you can get them repaired for a fee that is SIGNIFICANTLY lower than buying a new pair. They took awhile to break in but they are very comfortable and have excellent grip. The new Globes are awesome. I tried them on and it felt like a sneaker. However, I don't have 300 to 400 to shell out for boots.
