Thanks Seth. I know that many people are very upset with a recent item that was posted on the website of the newspaper that I work for. This was a decision made by the bosses. There are many dedicated employees that work there that had nothing to do with that decision.

I was at the game and the celebration afterwards. I did not see any fights. The Harrison players were celebrating by jumping in the creek after the game, an annual tradition. There were a couple of hundred Harrison fans lining the banks of the creek and the bridge over it cheering them on. I think the problem is that Rye has won the last 8 or 9 games in this rivalry and this crop of Rye players and fans are not used to seeing someone else celebrate in "their" creek. Tensions were running high and Rye PD wanted to clear the area around the creek before something bad did happen. Police from several departments were called in to assist Rye with helping to clear the school grounds.

A nice story on how a carbon monoxide alarm was almost tragic for a Mamaroneck firefighter.

Double-decker bus accident on 684 in Brewster could have been a lot worse. The bus came very close to rolling down an embankment and into a small pond. Brewster and Croton Falls rescues secured the bus with their winches before removing the passengers.

It is just amazing how people can build these multi-million dollar homes in a non hydrant area and not have a sprinkler system. The lawn sprinklers kicked on at one point and worked fine. Here are some photos from the job. http://www.lohud.com...&nclick_check=1
