  2. The Red Fox has also been the scene for many movies, I believe law and order also has taped some scenes there. It has that "Diner Feel".
  3. You guys are referring to the DEC Department of Enviromental Conservation, They do spill response and clean ups. The DEP Department of Enviromental PROTECTION does have a HAZ-MAT team.
  4. These may be courses that are not open to the public. They may be registered with the State but being held for a specific department.
  5. It is used by the radio technicians.
  6. Has anybody tried programming the system into a Uniden BC 785D? Need some help with it? Also does anybody out there have the programming cable and software for this scanner as well? Thanks Mike
  7. The suffix LS means it is a Trunked radio and only capable of 16 CONVENTIONAL frequencies or channels. The non trunking HT1250 is capable of 128 frequencies or channels. Hope that helps.
  8. Camps are guided b NYS DOH policies that require medically trained personel. They are certified in basic FA such as RTE or responding to emergencies. They are just there for their knowledge and training for general boo boos.
  9. Dr. Larsen and Dr. Hadock both left WMC and are the White Plains ER Directors. I have seen a lot more of the WMC docs go to WPER.
  10. Havent been to Brothers in years, but I remember they used to smoke in there, so everything you bought was brand new and smelled like you were in a bar all night, before the smoking ban that is.
  11. I'd second Pauls in the BX. Very helpfull staff as well, but like most othe places you are going to pay more than in the catalogs.
  12. Major Police Supply in NJ is a Vendor for the NYPD supplying the vehicles with lights and stripes. Like said above the cars then go to their quartermaster in Queens.
  13. The PA in a moving vehicle is absolutly useless. It irks me when I hear people screaming for cars to pull over or move to the right etc. The only thing a driver hears is Charlies Browns teacher talking... wah wah wah... However it is very usefull at scenes as a PA or Public Address System.

  15. The case could also be inexperienced or untrained operators. Some rigs are outfitted with numerous radios and frequencies but many of the operators don realize that their is anything othe than channel 1.
  16. Wouldnt it be faster for a trained / certified nurse to transport the pt downstairs?
  17. Cell Phones may be the reason, especially when somebody calls from municipalities with multiple post offices.
  18. News 12 is horrible, looks like a high school production. I switched to FIOS internet and phone over a year ago and TV in November. It is great, I am glad to be done with cable.
  19. A vehicle is great, but you need the properly trained and equipped personal to be functional.
  20. Are these repeaters always on? Can I monitor 46.26 24/7 with a UHF radio through one of these? Thanks Mike
  21. The NYS DOT plows on Central Ave in Hartsdale come from the Eastview Depot. Eastview would be either the one on Dana Road or Grasslands Road, many people refer to that general area as Eastview. Mike
  22. Anybody familiar with 2 cycle engines here? What is the difference between 50:1 and 40:1 fuel mixes? Can I mix between the two? Most of my lawn tool are 40:1 but I just got a snow blower that is 50:1. Should I have 2 different gas cans? Thanks Mike

  24. How about just purchasing a dozen tyvex suits. They will afford you the best protection. If you are going to dress up in coveralls, you should do it right.
  25. Is there any news on the fire at Hartsdale Station 2? Was it caused by the constuction company? How bad is the damage? Will the contractors insurance company pay for the damage?
