I have a buddy on Elizabeth Rescue-1, the rig (and new rescue rig) were purchased with funds from Homeland Security. Elizabeth maintains a comprehensive Special Operations division, responds to North Jersey departments on the M/A, and is responsible for sections of Newark Airport (Newark FD other parts) and Port Elizabeth (large sea container shipping port)They used to trailer a zodiak, but went with this e new TacSupport for quick launch of the boat. It is quartered with Engine-7, Ladder-1, Rescue-1 , the "Uasi" rescue rig, Collapse Unit (and Battalion & Division Chief) Firehouse- manned as needed by those members.

Here's a Pic of the new R-1 (GH photo).....

Nice shot! That rigs really a monster! Yeah, Elizabeth really has a large Special Ops. program, as well as a Haz-Mat. program. Engine 1, Engine 7, Ladder 1, Rescue 1, Rescue 2(UASI), Special Operations/Collapse Unit, and Tac. 1 are all part of EFD's Special Operations Task Force(All out of the Irvington Ave. Firehouse), and Engine 3, Engine 5, and Ladder 2 are all part of a Haz-Mat. Task Force.

The EMS Section of the EFD also has a large Frightliner/Rescue 1 MCI truck and a Logistics trailer for use with the NJ EMS Task Force. I don't have a picture of their vehicles here in the office but here is the deliver photo from PL/Rescue 1 (Strip is now red and EFD graphics since added.
