He did a tremendous amount for Putnam County Fire and EMS. He fought long and hard. I hope that the heavens bring him plenty of joy and that the end of his pain brings some relief to his three sons and his wife. He was a fireman in 45 truck, and retired as a Lt in Ladder 31 which during his time found him being first due truck to the Happy Land fire among many other notable fires and events. All three of his kids followed his footsteps and I am sure are proud of his accomplishments.

I don't even know this guy, but from the sounds of it, if you are against him you are a moron. Any man who is willing to risk his reputation for the safety of the men is what I consider an allstar. All these guys who think he is the problem should go take a walk outside of Sloan Kettering on York Ave. Look at all the people who are sick from cancer, then see why this guy is so adamant about your welfare. Or you could just be in the clique and suck up to the next Chief and get stretch marks on your mouth.

You can only carry 7 in the gun. Carry more magazines. =) And technically you aren't allowed to CCW in NYC anyway unless LEO or other special conditions (from my understanding). [Links for clarification appreciated]

Not sure if any of you were watching it live, we were since we were at a promotion party. They had a tower ladder set up with a fog nozzle, wtf good is that?! Water wasn't even making it to the fire.

Yeah it would have made a huge difference. You would have had someone who didn't win a popularity contest actually in the position and who was trained to an exact level.

  23. BFD1054 liked a post in a topic by everybodygoes in Three bodies found by demolition crew in fire-damaged abandoned Bronx home
Building was marked dangerous by the Capt of Engine 75. The bodies were found in a collapsed area that was not able to be searched because of the building being unstable. No one made any mistakes in the FDNY if anyone is to blame it is DOB or HPD for failing to maintain the security of the building.

No cons, except from the losers on facebook that want to be tough guys yet have never either read the NIST research or have had to visit a friend in the burn center. I was afforded the opportunity to get an 8 hour lecture from one of the head researchers at NIST responsible for collecting the data and working with the FDNY CFD and I think Baltimore FD. That 8 hours changed everything.
