I've been following your quest on Facebook and I am in awe. You've got incredible discipline and willpower. I like the questions you've asked in this post. As for me, I've been doing literally nothing for my health...hard to find motivation in all parts of the equation.

Seth, first thank you for the kind comments. Motivation is something you have to find within. I have found what keeps me motivated is the life I am living now as opposed to only a few months ago as well as a huge reduction in the medications I was taking especially insulin which I am off. I can say with all honestly if you don't address your health now you will have to address it later. There is an old saying" people who don't find the time now to be healthy will have to find the time later to be sick".

  2. Recently losing 110 lbs and developing healthy habits, I have become passionate for health and fitness as well as an advocate for firefighter, ems, and law enforcement health and wellness. As a health coach and in the process of obtaining my  personal trainer certificate, I would like to share fitness ideas with others. What are members doing to obtain optimal health? Cardio? Weight training? Both? How much time do you dedicate to working out? What about diet? What are you eating? Do your departments have exercise facilities or gym memberships? Do we overlook our own health and wellbeing as we care for others?

How many of the shareholders who profited from the three fold stock price increase were members of Congress, aware of the coming price increases and the Federal block grants to place these pens in thousands of locations.

That's how they all get wealthy having gone into Congress 'not wealthy'. Insider trading on confidential information is NOT illegal for members of Congress. Just the rest of us.

Congress is nothing more then a greedy crime family

  4. Knowing people personally in similair situations this is both sad and also a burden on the FD who I am sure responds with the greatest of professionalism regardless of how many times they are called but this doesn't seem to be emergency requests rather routine calls and now with this being made public how many more people are going to call for lift assists because they know when they come the FD will come.

The new law has nothing to do pulling out of the way for volunteers that are responding to an emergency (that still remains a courtesy on part of other drivers).  The new addition to the "move-over" law is directed towards volunteers that are ON SCENE already attending to an emergency.  Essentially, the addition in the law adds that if you see blue or green flashing lights on the side of the road you must do your best to safely move away from them as you would for red and white or amber lights (as already existed in the law).

PLEASE DO NOT MISINTERPRET THIS CHANGE FOR RESPONDING TO EMERGENCIES.  Continue to drive safely, obey all vehicle traffic laws, and just be safe in general!

I could see how the term "move over" could be misconstrued

The policy was they had to wait 24 hours until they can get it. It is a crutch. I started the job in 1986 and retired in 2011. Many of the same dope fiends coming in hooked on herion were still coming in throughout my time on the job. It just doesn't work.

  7. I say there are alot of clueless radical kids out there that are being misguided and brainwashed in some cases by the schools they attend. If they want to join something that has meaning than why not enlist in the military? Beccome a cop, firefighter, ems? Peace corps? Animal rescue? There are plenty of organizations that can used able bodied and motivated people that don't burn people alive in cages, rape young girls, or behead people.
