  1. Point taken guys! Slow Down, but we don't need to be pounding this in here. The point is that people were hurt, serious or not, people, fellow brother's, were hurt and that's what we need to be focusing on. I wish all involved a speedy recovery.
  2. Don't get all worked up over this. 41-1, Fairview in Dutchess, has this installed in his chief's car and I have been in front of the vehicle and don't feel much of a difference.
  3. It's official as of 0000hrs this morning, Alamo EMS is now TransCare
  4. How come this isn't as such a hot topic listening to music??
  5. I know a lot of us like to crank up the radio when responding. What's your favorite song/songs to listen to while driving Code 3?
  6. Will someone from the Admin Staff please lock this thread as it is obviously going nowhere. I'm sorry we can't have a civil conversation anymore without being totally shot down. Hope everyone has a safe evening.
  7. Thank You very much. This is exactly what I was talking about. If you know me at all, you know that I work nights where there's hardly anyone out and am doing the usual Intox jobs or and such that I don't need to listen to a Cmd 3, Response 2 or a Fire Ground, especially since usually I only need to listen to one frequency. Secondly, I'd like to Thank those of you like like Dan for not bashing me but my opinion. Third of all if I need to listen to a radio I can turn down the FM... it's got a volume control just like the onboard radio do. Sorry to cause such a "Safety Concern" with those of you on this site. I have worked with some veteran medics who have been around through the years and they have tought me the radio trick. Maybe some of you should try it. Finally you did read it right, my profile does say Captain and my views reflect me and me only, not those affliated with my department.
  8. Word on the street is the buses will be the Town of Wapp Blue not green
  9. The other thing that we all must remember is that while "things" may or may not be in the works, we all have jobs to perform to the best of our trained abilities. We cannot let the distaste or dissatisfaction for whats going on put itself between us and our patient care. The pt didn't do anything to us so don't let it show.
  10. Some photos of the Fairview Fire District getting ready for the Memorial Day Parade in Hyde Park Fairview 41-45 and Fairview Explorer Post 17 Ladder 17 (Old HRPC Ladder Truck)
  11. Thanks Bill...I definately will get together this week with Mark.
  12. Thanks guys... I thought the same thing as I took the shot. To tell you the truth I think Al thinks the same thing too. After getting 41-45 ready for the parade I watched as Al meticulously went over and over the truck making sure everything was just perfect. Could definitely see the "Old Days" come out in him yesterday. I've got some more shots I'll post up later.

  17. Mr. Robbins Thank You very much. You're always welcome.
  18. What about EZPASS?? or Traffic Camera's?? Big Brother has been here for awhile it's nothing new and if you've done nothing wrong, then what do you have to hide??
  19. Don't worry Dan, FFD941 will be on hand with Camera in Tow
  20. If someone is diagnosed with a cardiac related problem that is that severe they will have an internal defib implanted. I'm sorry I disagree here, if you have a medical problem and have been prescribed the proper preventative/reactive medications and you do not carry them, then you are at fault not me. I do however, agree that it's crazy to think that a NYS certifed ambulance doesn't carry the appropriate equipment. Anyone know if they carry Atropine?
  21. Bill Did you happen to grab a picture of Roger on the top E-1 operating the deck gun?? Talk about Frozen!!
  22. I just came back from a Press Conference at Vassar Hospital in Recogition of the two gaurds who rescued the families that night. Watch the local Cablevision News tonight for more. Outstanding work by all. I was working at Alamo that night and was first on scene and thought that it was going to be a very, very long night. Again outstanding work by all FD's involved and special Kudos to the Off-Duty Vassar Security Guards. If not for their quick thinking that fire could have turned out a whole lot worse.
  23. Dan great question. When we were operating at the HRPC fire one of the first things Cmd thought of long term wise besides the obvious of water and man power was bathrooms. M&O was called and they supplied multiple Porta-jons and boy were they used!!
