  1. Lots of people with NYDOCCS across their backs. Like the public is supposed to know what that means. What's wrong with just plain POLICE. Agencies and their acronyms.

So it's nice they found the woman who assisted in the escape. How about all the guards and supervisors asleep at the switch while power tools cut through the building? How long

before we actually see some accountability. Wonder when that will be. I just hope they are found before they become desperate and resort to what the know best, killing.

To be fair she is a DOC employee, just not a CO. I don't think we've seen the last head roll over this one.

  7. Please visit us! We're happy to chat, talk a little shop and maybe give a quick tour. However, if you're in the know, (and you are 'cause you're on this site) visit off the beaten path a bit. Give the guys in Times Square and The World Trade Center a break if you can.

Not that M' Ave needs someone to back up his statements, but in my experience this is 100% true. Some of the most welcoming houses I've visited were in completely off-the-path areas of Brooklyn and Da' Bronx, simply because they aren't easy to get to, and they appreciate the effort and attention. I still BS now and then with a few of the guys I met in Brooklyn a year or two ago.

  9. Yonkers Fire union blasts Mount Vernon on mutual aid

    Jonathan Bandler

    Journal News

    April 13, 2015

Mount Vernon's failure to properly staff its fire department has led the city to abuse the mutual aid system and rely too heavily on neighboring communities, the head of the Yonkers firefighters union charged Monday.

"The Yonkers taxpayers are carrying the financial burden which Mount Vernon Mayor Ernie Davis refuses to take responsibility for," Barry McGoey, president of the International Association of Fire Fighters Local 628, said in a statement. "It is obvious that Mount Vernon Mayor Davis thinks the taxpayers of Yonkers are suckers."

Honestly I don't know much about YFD or FDMV, but given all the discussion about mutual aid on here over the course of the last few months, I figured some might be interested in this article.

  10. There are a lot of misconceptions about PG, mostly by people who have never once been down here, or who have only seen a video, read an article or two, or "heard from a guy that used to ride down there." Sure, we're not even anywhere close to perfect, but there's few places where someone can go and get this amount of experience in this short of a time period.

I'd advise anyone who thinks they know how PGFD operates to come do a ride-along at a busy PG house and see for yourself. The door is always open.
