  1. Rest in Peace my friend...................you will be missed!
  2. I dont see the IAFF telling its members that they cant own their non-union contracting buisnesses. What if they get hurt doing a non union plumming job????
  3. Well I guess we should just throw out the vehicle & traffic laws. The volunteer firefighters assc has fought for years over the issue of removing blue lights from PD vehicles....because the law says volunteer firefighter personal vehicles only. I have no problem with what color lights are on it......change the law......which they did.....allowing blue to the rear. Current law does not allow blue on rigs or ambulances. If we want or need blue lights we should work to change the laws so we are not opreratng Illegally.
  4. Can Police officer tell the ambulance to transport to the police station? If he is under arrest its the PD's responsability to transport. I think the Chief of PD has put the ambulance corp. and the town who rely on it in jepordy.
  5. Well first things first. The fire truck was taken away because certain people didnt wear their turnouts while operating it...not budget cuts. Second... any agency who responds onto the Thruway has a form to fill out & is paid by the Tway for each response. Third... if the Tway runs through your district...........you are not abondoning your district...you are responding to YOUR call.
  6. RIP Brother.....................
  7. Limited for space???? Its an ambulance (moving Billboard) Remove 17 different colored stripes, you can write anything you want.
  8. Ex Deputy Chief first shield # 203
  9. AMERICA................ENGLISH OR GET OUT (I dont mind your native launguage, but if you want to live & work in this country, you should learn ours.)
  10. On the old mack, that "winch" raises & lowers the push bar for different height vehicles
  11. No they are not CFR's and the "un official" reason for getting rid of the fire engine is because there were certain people who used to use it without using turnout gear. Budget cuts had nothing to do with it, the wrecker crews responded only to car fires on the bridge...when that was the case the contract tow agency would come on the bridge and haul away whatever was left.
  12. There is one crew on 24/7, usually 2 crews on weekends, high volume weekends & holidays you might have 3 crews on. They run 2 wreckers 1 flatbed....(only brought out when needed) All 3 units are equipped with lights & sirens with wig-wags They are considered emergency vehicles, thats why they have "bridge patrol" on them. Seth...anytime you want to get more pics let me know, I can hook you up.
  13. I do know that Yonkers bought these rigs due to a money problem..............they were cheap
  14. Hey 61mack...............what dept was that???? What idiot authorized that rig???
  15. 2 career FF's injured in a volly dept........interesting
  16. It really is stupid to send all 3 Chiefs out of town. If you dont have a plan in place, the first Chief to call in service should respond with the rig.
  17. ATTN 66alpha............... most depts buy rigs they cant afford...float bonds...take loans. This is not an ambulance!! if the money is there when the purchase is made, people dont count on the money running out.
  18. Good looking rig.......GREAT job code3
  19. EX-CHIEF Fairview now Ulster County
  20. Fairview runs 1 engine, 1 rescue, and a ladder from H.Q. and 1 engine from station 2. Really only one chief 2121, all others are acting or fire prevention.
  21. Yonkers.......where do I start? Lets tear down dozens of local buisnesses that are the only source of shopping for most of the people in that area. Next we will tear down a landmark in this city( Yonkers Fire Headquarters). Than they want to build a ballpark...................in a GHETTO..................................... The City of Yonkers built on a hill.........where nothing is on the level!!
  22. Reality people.... does the fact that he a firefighter, paid or vollie matter? The issue here is DWI. Look at the past few days papers......drunk cop kills drunk cop. The media brings his occupation into it, all it has to say is drunk man steals firetruck. The lesson to be learned here should be about DWI, not ones job.
  23. Rest in Peace Lou............
  24. A true hero..........may he rest in peace. Good-bye my brother......watch over us all.
