SVI makes a great product.

SVI does make a nice truck and appears to be really the only solid alternative to the former (Pre-Federal Signal) Saulsbury Line.

Question: Are you guys opting out of the SVI type rear stairway? Or is that cross beam in the photos just a temporary support?

Thanks and look forward to seeing its completion.

SVI hired a number of saulsbury employees who realized what would happen under saulsbury.

no rear stairs, it takes up to much storage, but they make a very nice pop out ladder (similar to zico). Actually i think Rescue 1 (PL Custom) pushes the steps more than SVI,

Is there going to be coffin boxes or other storage on the top?

Or maybe some seats from a Double Decker bus so the city can multi tack the rescue to public transportation, or fundraising tours :P

The only coffin box is already there. We have a number of other systems/equipment that will take up the entire roof space. no seating...I dont think NFPA allows it.

OSHA violation if it is not covered. Hey I never thought about that before....

1910.212(a)(3)(ii)

The point of operation of machines whose operation exposes an employee to injury, shall be guarded. The guarding device shall be in conformity with any appropriate standards therefor, or, in the absence of applicable specific standards, shall be so designed and constructed as to prevent the operator from having any part of his body in the danger zone during the operating cycle.

They said we were the 1st dept to have our own CAD drawings for venders to see as part of our bid package.

Thanks. end of October

When we spec'ed it we were planning on it. With the economy the way it is, it is unlikely we will be able to man it at this time.

Which dept?

Paterson is about 10 trucks behind us. They are the only other NYS dept on the list.
