While I think that EMD is a fantastic and invaluable tool, I have noticed of late fewer calls seem to be getting EMDed. I'm not sure if this is just me or if it is something that other people are noticing, if anyone else wants to share what they have noticed that would be greatly appreciated. If we are already seeing fewer calls with an EMD with just the addition of those agencies that Firedude mentioned switching to 60 over the summer, what is going to happen when the deadline comes in January? Even fewer calls being EMDed? I think that 60 dispatchers do an amazing job and am in no way attacking them, rather I am trying to ask if others have noticed a decline in the ability to EMD a call because of an already increased call volume.

Sailr322 liked a post in a topic by SWS1 in Archville Fire Department New Chief's Vehicle
It's been a hectic past couple of months for us, leaving little time to post our recent deliveries, but over the next week or so we'll be trying to get more up.
The Archville Fire Department, established in 1909 in the Scarborough Fire District, recently took delivery of their new Chief’s vehicle, a 2012 Ford Expedition designated 2631, from Specialty Warning Systems in Danbury CT.
Lighting is comprised of Whelen components including a Freedom lightbar, an eight head Dominator in the front grille, split red/white IONs on the Setina pushbumper and red/white M4s at each corner for side protection. Vertex HideAways in the brake & reverse lights, an eight head Traffic Advisor above the cargo door and red/white IONs on the cargo door and in the upper cargo window complete the system which is controlled by A CenCom Sapphire system.
The center console is a Havis vehicle specific which contains the department and County radios, CenCom control head, dual power outlets and side mount armrest.
Additional LED lighting was added inside the cargo compartment to aid in equipment retrieval at night, with PAR36 LEDs added under the rear of the truck for supplemental reverse and ground lighting.
The unique black reflective striping, gold leaf and white reflective lettering and door seal framing a photo of their horse drawn engine combine to provide their exterior graphics.
We enjoyed working with the Archville FD on their new Chief’s truck and appreciate their confidence in us. We look forward to additional projects with them in the future.

Unlike an Epi-Pen where there is no alternative, a BLS ambulance already has a tool to prevent anoxic injury secondary to hypoventilation. It's called a BVM.
I'm all for it as long as the agency provides the proper training and support and equipment to monitor the patient after administration.

Sailr322 liked a post in a topic by tommyguy in Yonkers firefighters battling 3-alarm blaze on Webster Avenue
In an excellent audio interview, Deputy Chief John Flynn explained to a Lohud reporter how members of two engine companies were briefly trapped by flames Sunday afternoon. The two companies were battling fire that had extended to an adjoining structure when there was an additional extension. They were assisted by the FAST company and used ground ladders to get out.
It was a terrific interview but after twenty minutes of trying to find it again on the Lohud site I give up.
I did find an amateur video that shows the fire just before and after the arrival of Yonkers fire companies.
