Description: Caller reported helicopter landing on roof of building which they believed to be suspicious. PD arrived and found this building formerly had a licensed heliport on the roof. PD determined that pilot had previously landed here but the building was now under new ownership / management and the heliport was no longer maintained and in poor condition, however heliport is still recognized by FAA.

SPD requested fire marshal to evaluate condition of roof. and safety for take off & landing. SPD also consulted by phone with CT State Police Aviation unit. Roof was determined to not be suitable for take off. Fire Marshal requested Engine & truck to stand by due to aircraft on unstable surface. Helicopter was removed by crane at 17:35 and placed on flatbed, then was escorted by police and fire to parking lot of West Beach on Shippan Ave. Helicopter was then removed from flatbed and was able to take off safely at 18:21.

The former quarters of NY Fire Patrol # 2, located on W 3st in Manhattan is now owned by Anderson Cooper. Here are a couple of photos since he renovated the place. The photo with the rig is from when it was still in service.

Industrial rig at Merck in Darmstadt Germany. Merck is a German chemical  and pharmaceutical corporation
Year: 2006   Manufacturer: Mercedes-Benz   Country: Germany   Merck Darmstadt Mercedes Rosenbauer

    2-27 TroTLF Mercedes-Benz 3535/Rosenbauer DA-EM 241 1993

One of two Industrial Engines. The nickname is Iguana Here's some basic info:

    Chassis: MB 3535
Bodywork: Rosenbauer (the cab itself was modified by Eller GmbH)
    Manufactured: 1993

    Water tank: 4000 l
    Foam tank: 4000 l
    ABC dry powder: 3000 kg
    CO2: 300 kg

    Pump output: 6000 lpm @ 8 bar

The crew cab in the middle of the bodywork has 4 seats (facing backwards, with BA sets fitted into the backrests). One additional BA set is mounted in the driver's cab. The water tank (and presumably the foam tank as well) is situated behind the crew cab, above the rear axels. A hosereel is mounted in the pump locker, above the pump's control panel. The powder and CO2 tanks are installed above the two front axles. There are 4 hosereels behind the driver's cab, 2 for each agent, on both sides (the smaller one for CO2 and the larger one for powder). There are two roof monitors. The vehicle is also fitted with a 'shower' system (decontamination purposes? the German description didn't say what it is for exactly!).

60 Control has recently begun adding an Alpha/Bravo/Charlie/Delta Response codes to their EMS dispatches. We were informed by 60 that an e-mail was sent to all Captains explaining it all. My Captain has not seen fit to share that info yet. Can anyone explain it for me?
  20. Billy liked a post in a topic by v85 in Alpha, Bravo, Charlie Delta
Every agency will have this system set up different. But the basic version is:

A - BLS unit non emergency
    B- BLS unit emergency
C- BLS unit emergency and ALS unit non emergency
D - BLS and ALS emergency
E- BLS and ALS emergency + closest unit (like Hazmat, fire marshals etc)

E is basically for what they call ineffective breathing and only a few calls are E (CPR, Hanging, Drowning/Submerged Vehicle occupied)

Now the agencies can change things. For example in Orange County it basically is

    A - BLS non emergency
    B - BLS emergency
C/D/E - BLS and ALS emergency
