  1. In a multi player deal, the Rangers have traded Scott Gomez for Chris Higgins. Higgins played for the Montreal Canadiens and is originally from Long Island. Free agency starts tomorrow so this might be the first of more from the Blueshirts.
  2. I remember seeing him play against the Rangers and he played well. I think they are clearing cap room to go after Heatley from Ottawa.
  3. I hope their local dealer can handle it.
  4. As a DIE HARD RANGERS FAN I was lucky to watch him as a member of my favorite team and as my favorite player for 99% of his career. My girlfriend knows his wife and her family and he still continues to devote alot of his time to charity. He was the kind of player that gave 110% every game. Congrats Brian!
  5. As Izzy said the Ferrara Aerials are built by Smeal. I personally dont like the Ferrara cab, I like the Spartan like we have in Port Chester (Smeal) much better. While out at Smeal we looked at a Ferrara cab waiting to have its aerial mounted and no one seemed to like it. Maybe someone from Pleasantville can comment on them. The trucks are then shipped from Nebraska to Louisiana for final assembly at Ferrara. Smeal makes great aerials, tillers and TLs. Its too bad the are not more popular in this area.
  6. Can you say Re-election? It wouldnt be good for him if that plan went through.
  7. What a joke. You just have to love Bloomberg.
  8. `You are correct Joe, its on the old firehouse site.
  9. My company has a rotating Duty Driver. He is responsible to get the rig out the door from 11pm until 7am whether he stays at the house or responds from home. We do this because alot of guys live very close to the house. They guys that dont can get the rig out the door fast and dont have to wait for a full crew. Since we have a large volly base, the rest of the men can respond directly to the scene. I personally have driven to a job and by the time I parked and set up the rig, I had a full crew. This system doesnt work for everyone, but it works good for us.
  10. And Bloomberg is running again. God bless you all!
  11. As someone who has vast knowledge of emergency vehicles, (its my job), the two tone set up is a factory installed option from Ford. And because it is an option, it is an added expense. It is cheaper to have it done by the factory than an aftermarket paint shop and that is why my department orders them that way. Our Crown Vics start out as black cars then have the white sprayed meaning that all jams are black . Our cars are now auctioned online and we get a good penny for them eventhough they are multicolored.
  12. Maybe someone has the real answer. I know that the Pierce was a brand new rig and was either leased or given to the show.
  13. Port chester Ladder 31 and Tower Ladder 2 are pre-piped without a pump. We have 7 engines so we dont have a need for a pump on either rig.
  14. RIP, what a shame.
  15. A friend of mine is a career FF just south of Denver. They have a Central States Rosie and it is out of service more than it is in. If you are going other than Seagrave or Pierce, try anything with a Spartan cab. In Port Chester we have a Smeal Ladder with a Spartan cab and love it.
  16. I wonder what the turning radius is. It must really stink.
  17. Izzy, Congrats form all of us at HHH&L. Last time we spoke you were concerned about layoffs. Is that still aproblem? Come down and see us soon.
  18. Who is the dealer? I know the dealer who sold us our Ladder from Ct is also an SVI dealer. SVI makes a great body.
  19. We now have 4 rigs department wide with this color scheme.
  20. It is used by somone who I believe might be in charge of their vehicles. I know who he is, although its not my place to say here. What his exact job description is, I dont know.
  21. I think all lights, no matter what state , should all be the same on a national level. If this were to occur, there would be no confusion.
  22. We appreciate all the hard work ENG58 has done to preserve these rigs. Thanks Ang!!
  23. Years ago they had some engines.
