  1. Mt. Kisco does use our utility which is a 98 PL Custom body for F.A.S.T responces. It was built specifically as a utility but yes it does look much like an ambulance. It makes sence using a scene support vehicle or in this case the safety batt. vehicle to carry F.A.S.T equipment. It doesn't tie up an engine, ladder or rescue. Our new Engine (E-106) is the back-up F.A.S.T truck. Best of luck with the new command car.
  2. Looks great, best of luck. I thought we would be seeing another PL Custom, but I guess not. Any reason for the Braun over the PL Custom?
  3. Hello Chris/ Gail, were looking to do some sort of wetdown when the weather gets warm, some sort of BBQ. Nobody likes a cold BBQ. We actually receved the new Ambulance today and it is sweet. It does fit into the garage, which is a great success. I will attempt to post some pictures asap.
  4. MK's Ambulance was shown in the LI show. Sorry to go off topic Carmel. How long till you guy's put this rig in service. also what happening with the Medtec, heard its had some large scale issues??
  5. Hello to all, I'm happy to hear that you all like the new addition to our new fleet. Yes this is the Ambulance from the Long island Buff show right as you walked in. Thank you Seth for the compliment. A lot of the reasons we went with this rig were listed above by Seth but there were a few more. It also has an amazing turning radius. We started having problems with the ford motors/ dealerships, (will remain nameless) and the truck with all the equipment that we carry was bogged down and almost on the max weight capacity. Believe it or not, it is only a bit larger than our old Ambulance, the nose of this vehicle makes it look larger than it really is. The International's on the other hand are HUGE and impractical for our response area. We changed around some lighting on this vehicle as well, but we did stay with the 900 series lights all around. I will be happy to answer any questions and thank you all for your interest in our newest vehicle. Seth, give me a call when your up in the area so you can take some pictures. I will post pictures as well upon its arrival at our HQ tomorrow around 6pm. R. Zaccari 1st LT New Vehicle Committee Chairman P.S it is only 2wd with on-spot chains. The 4wd model adds about a foot to the height.
  6. Congrats, I got to take a look at it while it was still in NJ. Good luck with it. MK will be taking delivery tomorrow of their new Ambulance.
  7. The old E-104 (Mack) is now in service as Engine 102. Their new E-104 (Pierce) is now in service as well. At this time, the new ladder 43 (Smeal) is not yet in service.
  8. Hey Joey, welcome home, its nice to hear good news. Hope everything is going well, and I hope you have a speedy recovery. I can't wait to hear 2030 and or the voice of bedvid back on the radio. If you need anything, dont hesitate to call your neighbors to the south. Again, hope your feeling better. Get Well Soon!! - Ray Z P.S. Big Ray says best wishes also!
  9. The new rig looks sweet! You guys have to bring it up to the IFCO house so we can all take a good look!
  10. Just a quick run-down. Each company owns their on vehicles, turn out gear and air packs and such. With this, the individual companies can buy what ever they want. For example the Independent House uses SCOTT Packs, Morning Pride and Globe Gear (all black with yellow reflective). The Hooks use SCOTT Packs as well and also GLOBE gear (Black with orange reflective). The Rescue Company also uses black GLOBE with SCOTT Packs. Finally, the Mutuals use FIRE DEX gear (Tan w/ yellow reflective) also a little globe. We normally respond to our respective house, so we have our own gear and equipment. We can ride with the other companies and use their gear as well.
  11. Congrats Arena's
  12. Congrats seth and lots of luck, no wonder why you havent been around Kisco in a while
  13. Forget it, I have a Tahoe and it is beyond bad $55 for a 1/2 tank. Nothing I like more than that. I have a bike too, a Harley, none the less, and its time to go out and buy a bicycle. GT Mountain bike, here I come!!!
  14. I heard the same thing, victory red is a color of the past. I could always be wrong though, if im not mistaken, the 2008 suburbans are saposed to have the option to get the Duramax Diesel motor in it, that would be sweet!
  15. My first fire call was a sofa fire that had a whole lot of potential, but the chief put it out with his water can before we pulled up, kinda stunk. My first significant fire was the Yashiva fire that was on torah road. It was awesome when we got there and for the first couple of hours, but 12 hours later, I was shot. That same day, I just happened to drive back from the bottom end of Jersey. I did get some awesome pictures on the camera off the Engine
  16. For my Department I would use........... Engines: E- 105, Mount Kisco Independents 1989 Pierce (open cab) E- 199, Bedford Hills FD, 1991? Pierce (open cab) E- 104, Mount Kisco Mutuals 1983 Mack (open cab) E- 119, Croton FD, 19?? Mack (open cab) Ladders L- 47 North White Plains TL- 14 Mount Kisco Hooks Rescue R- 31 Mount Kisco, 2005 Evi Light duty Rescue Tanker T- 5 Bedford Hills Fd Utility U -13 Mount Kisco Independents, but I would take the same consept and put a "ambulance box" on a 2006 GMC 4500 Top Kick Cheifs Head: 2008 2500 Suburban, (They are putting the Duramax back into them!!!!) 1st Asst. 2007 Z71 Tahoe 2nd Asst. 2006 GMC 2500 Duramax, Crew cab, 6 1/2' bed 3rd Asst. 2006 GMC 2500 Duramax, Extended cab, 6 1/2' bed All Apparatus white over a dark red, almost maroon Chief cars all white.
  17. Hey Mikey, give me one of the Harleys to ride and i will be a member there!!! I believe that Batts does a hell of a job lettering the Chiefs cars!!
  18. I dont like all red at all it is too plain. White over red, or Caddy Yellow over dark red. MKFD Independents. Its a very unique design
  19. I personally like the show. It started out nice and little and oyu could go threw the whole thing in 1hr or less. Now the show is expanding and only for the better. If you are looking for something you will 9 times out of ten find it. I usually go on sat. but this year im going on sunday for a change. I personally have found almost everything that I have gone down there for. Have a good time, if you go with the right guys, it turns out to be a really fun day.
  20. You may want to try the fire show at the Nassau Col. next weekend I believe. If you look you may find something your looking for. Sometimes they even have deals b/c there at the show and they do not want to cart it back to their store. Just a little heads up for one option.
  21. Im sure I speek for everyone here when I say that the Arena family deserves this more than anyone else that I know of. Please keep us informed about any updates. Best of luck!!! God Bless the Arean Family!!
  22. I do miss my minitor II but the only prob was no vibrate. I saw aftermarket ones for sale but i never tried. Im on my 2nd IV and i love it. My dept. got all 5's with no record or cool fetures so its a very heavy IV with a led battery indicator.
  23. At this current time Mt. Kisco is prob going to replace L - 43 with another 100' stick before they look to replace TL-14. TL-14 is still in beautiful condition. I hope they go with Segrave! I also hope that 104 is kept and presurved. It is a beautiful truck. I love the look of the old Mack's.
  24. I believe that if you are lettering a cheif's car, reflective is the way to go. It is much easyer to take off and you can get more money for the car if sold to the public. On fire Apparatus i like gold leaf. It looks more sleek and traditional. On Kisco's new Ambulance we have the gold leaf decaled on and it looks pretty close to real. I like Bedford Hills Apparatus all lettered by Forest.
