  1. I support Duracell, and will not buy anything else....they have always supported the fire service thru donations, so we should support them.

Couple years ago Duracell donated a couple cases of batteries (9volt, A ,AAA) to us to give out to anybody in the district that needed them for smoke alarms.

They are also a American company located in CT.

  2. First, I was not there..... but, I do not see anything out the ordinary on this truck setup. I think if you are truck chauffer you should be expected to operate the truck you train and work with.

With this said, that is why I am a big fan of mid-mount tower ladders due to the low turntable to get under wires and with shorter booms.

  3. First of all.. nice engine, and good luck.

Here is where the sh*t storm is going to start..... Why do departments in New York State continue to put front facing blue emergency lights on the front of there apparatus ???

Please don't tell me because it looks cool,....IT's AGAIST THE LAW !!!

With so many "sue happy" people out there I would stay far from it, a flashing blue light is for volunteer firefighters as a courtesy light only (New York State Vehicle Traffic Law Section 375)

  4. Nothing that most of us have not seen... but you can tell the cold weather is coming to the North East. Here are a couple of PHOTOS from a recent alarm of a person that had fallen and was feeling dizzy in the New Hamburg Fire District when they responeded the portable CO meter went into alarn while tending to patient in the residence, firefighters conducted a investigation and came across a 20 pound propane tank feeding a portable heater in the home to keep the house warm. When I approached the home owner to explain the concerns for the home onwer and firefighters the home owner statement was "Money is Tight"
