Chucky was my unoffical nephew, he always called me uncle Ang. In his younger years he always went on vacation with my family and my oldest son Angelo [ rescue 40 here] and was a brother to him, I called him kunckle head right up till yesterday and for those that new him would know why. He was family to me, R.I.P. MY Nephew.

Car 104, a 2012 Charger is assigned to the patrol division shift captains. This is the first delivered Charger. The Crown Vic fleet will be replaced by the Chargers in Nov 2012. (12) front line cars rotate at a time. If a mod or someone can size the photos I'd appreciate it.

Was used at last weekends WMD Drill. Very empressive. The large TV screen in the rear outside compartment was neat. They had displayed both live video and thermal imaging, remote gas detector readings (up to 16 detectors) and cameo cloud modeling. All being feed from the command area.

Yesterday, I had the privledge of attending Bedford Hills FD's Open House/Fre Prevention Day. They put on a great event for the public where they had multiple different oppurtunities to learn about fires, how to prevent them, and what to do if there is one. They also gave tours of their newly renovated and expanded firehouse.
I was also able to tour their new firehouse, which, as always with BHFD, is awesome and very well thought out.

  7. FF398 liked a post in a topic by Just a guy in 9 Year Old honored for saluting the funeral procession of Fallen Trooper
Trooper Andrew Fox of the Virginia State Police was killed in the line of duty last week. When 9 year old Lane Snow found out that the Trooper's funeral procession would be going by his house, he put his Cub Scout uniform on and stood by the road and saluted the entire procession which was 2 miles long. That means he held his salute for approximately 15 minutes.
Even through their grief, the Troopers and Officers in the procession took notice of this kid and his salute and honored him at his Cub Scout meeting this week. This kid is the proud future of America !!

I took the picture with my iPad, but the information came from Mike Leary, a well known Fire Photographer in CT. Unfortunately I do not have a "before" shot to show you, but just take my word for it.
This 1970 International / Ansul was originally quartered with Engine 16 (Lighthouse Point) and was moved to Tweed-New Haven Airport when they first had firefighters on staff there. Its original designation was Fox 1. Tweed has gotten some much more modern apparatus since then and it was taken out of service a while ago.
Sometime last year it was brought to NHFD's shops last year sometime to be refurbished. I saw it when I was down at the Fire School for a live burn and it was in sad shape. I don't believe the NHFD mechanics did the paint or striping but there was a lot of body/mechanical work to be done. Since the refurb the rig has been renumbered as Car 44 and its currently quartered in the Training Support Building at the New Haven Fire School along with the NHASH Team Prime Mover and Decon Trailer. It may be relocated later on but no details as to where yet.
I carries somewhere in the area of 400-500lbs of Purple K Dry Chem. Personally I think it came out pretty awesome.

It's been a hectic past couple of months for us, leaving little time to post our recent deliveries, but over the next week or so we'll be trying to get more up.
The Archville Fire Department, established in 1909 in the Scarborough Fire District, recently took delivery of their new Chief’s vehicle, a 2012 Ford Expedition designated 2631, from Specialty Warning Systems in Danbury CT.
Lighting is comprised of Whelen components including a Freedom lightbar, an eight head Dominator in the front grille, split red/white IONs on the Setina pushbumper and red/white M4s at each corner for side protection. Vertex HideAways in the brake & reverse lights, an eight head Traffic Advisor above the cargo door and red/white IONs on the cargo door and in the upper cargo window complete the system which is controlled by A CenCom Sapphire system.
The center console is a Havis vehicle specific which contains the department and County radios, CenCom control head, dual power outlets and side mount armrest.
Additional LED lighting was added inside the cargo compartment to aid in equipment retrieval at night, with PAR36 LEDs added under the rear of the truck for supplemental reverse and ground lighting.
The unique black reflective striping, gold leaf and white reflective lettering and door seal framing a photo of their horse drawn engine combine to provide their exterior graphics.
We enjoyed working with the Archville FD on their new Chief’s truck and appreciate their confidence in us. We look forward to additional projects with them in the future.

  17. FF398 liked a post in a topic by SWS1 in Irvington Police Department new 2013 Interceptor Sedan
The latest addition to the Irvington PD fleet, provided by Specialty Warning Systems, is a 2013 Ford Interceptor Sedan, replacing a Crown Victoria patrol vehicle.
As with virtually every vehicle we are upfitting today, the lighting system is Whelen LED based including a WeCan Liberty lightbar, split red, white and blue 400 series lightheads on the front of the Setina pushbumper with LINZ6s on the outer faces. Split red/blue IONs are installed in the rear window with Vertex HideAways in the reverse & brake light housings. Red/blue Sidekick IONs replace the OEM side fender trim panels. System control is by way of an A6 controller.
The Interceptor specific center console houses the department radio, A6 controller, power outlets, cup holder and armrest with integral printer. The upper platform also contains the laptop computer mount.
Prisoner containment is a Pro Gard system which includes an ABS transport seat and floorpan. The radio chassis and required electronics are installed on a full width sliding trunk tray. The outside graphics, adapted to the new body style, mirrors the rest of the IPD fleet vehicles.
The Irvington PD has placed their confidence in us for several years to provide their new vehicles and maintain the rest of the fleet. We appreciate this confidence and look forward to working with them for many years to come.
