Very rarely do I see them driving with a partner so by looking into your vehicle to see what your other hand is doing, they themselves are distracted from their driving. Somehow I can see this causing more mva's involving a mos and it being the fault of the mos for not paying attention to their driving.

He needs a good ol fashion ass whooping is what he needs. Or perhaps a lesson on what that memorial stands for and what it means to most of us.
I did plenty of stupid s**t when I was younger, believe me. But I could never understand people who destruct property or downright disrespect memorials and other sacred things.

How about etiquette in general? How many parades have you been to where you see guys in uniform with their shirt untucked, tie falling off, hat all crooked, drinking beer? And some ff's wonder why the publics perseption isn't always favorable. Ever see military personnel look like that? Nope, because there is respect for the uniform and what it stands for.

I saw this 13yrs ago at Ground Zero. Guys taking pics of each other I/f/o/ utter devastation. Are you friggin kidding me? Yeah that's it, let's take one of the worst days in American History and turn it into a photo op! Morons!

Sadly, I do not think a class on etiquette would have much impact. This situation has more to do with common sense, or the lack of.

Sadly, it appears another new "trend" is coming out of our technology boom. It appears that a funeral is now becoming a "look at me event". Reportedly, many uniformed firefighters were taking cellphone pics throughout the processional and such. Many don't seem to understand that taking pictures for their Facebook page makes a solemn day of remembrance appear to be about the wrong people. What could and should be a large silent presence to honor the fallen and show the family, FD and community that we are one in brotherhood appears to be just another excuse to get out of town a drink and show off their hero costumes. Disgraceful. Too bad only those of us on the inside readily see the difference between those in uniform and those in hero costumes.

Black huh? Another fire chiefs car that we don't want to look like a fire chiefs car? Who are we hiding from? Or are we just trying to look like a Secret Service motorcade?

Maybrook is in process of building a new engine to replace Engine 215. The new engine will be designated as Engine 218. From what I have heard, they are looking to make it a twin to Engine 210, 2012 Spartan ERV Metro Star.

Don't comment on an ongoing investigation. I don't think Chief Flynn is being malicious, but never comment on it. Especially since this claim will be in the millions.

Also, hopefully the voters will take notice and replace those that are creating this situation.
And if and laws are being violated, hopefully the state AG &/or the county prosecutors office will make an example of this.

I'm sure Capt Behre knew full well what the repercussions of his actions would be, yet he stood up alone and faced them. That is courage, that is integrity and that my friends is what we need more of today. Hopefully others will take note and draw inspiration from his example.
Good job Capt and good luck!!

He goes off because two FF's did not march in the Parade and then were socializing? He is taking himself way too serious.
What would this guy do if something serious had happened?

It's s*** like this that makes all of us look bad. This is also why I hate parades. Having a melt down because two members didn't march? Grow the hell up! Can anyone tell me, is there any positive aspects to being a volunteer firefighter anymore? Because all I see is bull s*** and drama.

And while you're at it, bring back Jon and Ponch, maybe move station 51 to the beach, house it with a lifeguard station and satellite CHP station. That's a show.
