  1. EmsFirePolice liked a post in a topic by antiquefirelt in Difference Between "Working Fire" and "Structure Fire"
Just like so much else in this business it depends on how they're used in a given area. The term "Structure Fire" is often just a dispatch description, though a few years back there was a movement to make this a benchmark type term denoting the fire had actually begun to attack the structural elements of the building. This didn't seem to take off in many places, but I suspect there are some who utilize it this way? "Working Fire" is often a alarm level between how a building fire is dispatched and the next full alarm level, often bringing a reduced number of units. For example a building fire in our area is most often dispatched as a first alarm assignment getting what the FD places on their first alarm list. A second alarm may bring another 3 engines and 2 truck, but often the fire does not require 5 more companies, thus a "Working Fire" declaration may bring just 1 and 1. Like I started with, these examples may vary greatly from locality to locality, standardization in the US fire service is nearly nonexistent.

Strong work by County PD Officer James Rosselli and Officer Matthew Cohn, who were the first on scene minutes after the initial call and made the rescue. The woman could have very easily drowned. Also props to the Yonkers DPW crew who was nearby and witness the event, and removed the victim from the other vehice, which was also taking on water.
Special thanks to the current 307 for sharing the photos! They depict the scene after both patients were transported to the hospital.

This young boy loved firefighters and like all young children wanted to be one someday. In light of his dreams our presence as firefighters is requested in Class A uniform at 10am at St. Rose church in Newtown for a lineup. This is not limited to members of anyone dept any FD members cab show their respect to this young
    Little boy Daniel Barden.

No, he means the Whelen Howler, just like he typed.
Anyways, I really like the Demers ambulance brand. The layouts of the cab and patient module have a very progressive and intergrated layout.
Hopefully I'll get the chance to photograph/check out the new buses soon.

Yes, those first responders must be going through some tough feelings right now, pray for them as well.
This makes me sick to my stomache and is exactly why I didnt want my daughter to go to public school...most of those schools are nothing but deathtraps waiting to happen with all of the drugs, bullying, not enough teachers, too many kids, things get out of control and this happens...
My daughter got in trouble the other day for coming to the defense of a little girl getting bullied by two older boys...AND MY GIRL GOT IN TROUBLE?!?!? And they wonder why these things happen??
Thoughts and prayers to the victims and their families, the teachers and staff, and above all the first responders who are sorting through this mess...god bless.

My nephew is 4 years old and this easily could have been my town, his school, he himself could have been a victim!
My heart goes out to all families and children of that school. I can't even begin to imagine having to go into that school to identify my little boy or girl.
RIP to all the victims of this tragedy.

I hope that the responder's accept the help that will be provided, we need you to get through this.
    I will pray for them.
