The Port Authority PD is a joke...yes a complete joke! Its an ATM for these guys who are glorified security guards who break balls at the airports. 400 K !! You have to be kidding. How many of them go disabled after one of these monster years? Bet more than 50%!! What happened to a CAP on these guys and girls? Pushing idling cars out of pick up lanes is worth 400K? Come on I'll do it 12 hours a day for 6 days a week for 125K and no benefits.....

This is news? The whole County fire protection system is broken. And it's not going to change until all of the elected chiefs and fire commissioners decide to give up their little sandboxs and do what's best for the citizens of the districts they protect.

I was wondering if anybody noticed Yonkers sent 6 pieces of apparatus (2 engines 2 trucks 1 MSU and 1Batt.) to New Rochelle... not fair to Yonkers residents my self included...I have no problem with mutual aid...god knows we just had a big mutual aid....just spread it around...I know they put Batt 3 in service don't know if they replaced the line units...anybody have more info?

Hey Ed glad to see you have joined the ranks of us retirees. First worked together at Western Electric with you and Gene. Then I joined the YFD and you guys at Yonkers Dispatch. I was always glad to hear your voices on the other end of the line when responding to any incident because I knew myself and my crew were in good hands. Always professional and always thinking ahead. Sounds like to me that this incident was appropriately handle and no more criticism should be made. This seems like a isolated incident that required a special resource and that was requested and responded and handle it as needed, end of story.
Those with criticisms, if they are so involved and have such expect opinions and knowledge ought to think about joining their local fire department if they want to help out so much.
Don't criticize those who decide and make your lives safe everyday by these proper decisions, but embrace that they are doing a job and doing it correct.

First, your question could be raised RIGHT NOW about the 2nd alarm in Valhalla. They skipped over a staffed tower ladder in White Plains and Fairview to call a tower ladder in West Harrison.
If you have such an issue that the county team that takes over 40 mins to get out and on location ... And we all know that 2001 responds by himself to check and verify (regardless of what the IC states or requests [EDIT: This JUST happened at the Valhalla fire...]) and then an unknown response of unknown number and unknown trained personnel respond... Wasn't utilized, call the Assistant Chief of the department and ask him himself.
Better yet, because you know exactly who he is, why not ask him face to face of why he made that call, rather than anonymously and blindly question every facet of his decision made yesterday. Figure out exactly why he did, then come back and with facts, explain it to us.
