Here is a preview of the movie NON-STOP with Liam Neeson.
Movie will be out in February 2014.
Engine 626 is featured in the movie. Perhaps a close up of it's Chauffeur also

Engine 626 was lettered SLOKKVILID because one of the scenes takes place in Iceland.
Also "112" is the 911 for Iceland.

ENJOY! I look forward to seeing the movie.

Much of what you wrote is valid, but some of these items are not:
"5 - Use as a secondary line for a car / truck / container fire by attaching a SG or CG nozzle using either a piercing attachment or a "pinapple wand" to get into those hard to reach areas (before a hood or an opening can be created). Again, doesn't take the place of the main attack lines, it an added resource."
While nice to have the special nozzle, why not have that 2nd line with enough power to back up the primary if something goes wrong (like the gas tank drops)
"7 - DECON and REHAB for your firefighters, nothing like having a small line to cool you off on a hot day or to wash down your dirty gear. Again, freeing up another larger line or main discharge."
Not for decon and "freeing up a line or discharge" I have never seen an engine run out of discharges, most today have 7-9 (4-6 main ones)
"8 - small propane tank leakes - less than 20 lbs tanks (adjust the nozzle to a good fog patter and disipate that LPG)"
Maybe you should calculate the potential btu output from oneof these before you go in with way too small of a flow
"9 - Use as an invesitgation line - The FM is trying to find the cause of a fire, got a few very small hot-spots or needs to wash down a small are without having the great pressure from a 1 3/4" line, the booster is your line. GRANTED it should not be the only line present, you should still have a main attack line present just in case! You have the poewer of both."
If the pressure is too much in the 1 3/4" line - Gate down. because of the reduced FL you can use less pressure (thus less volume) and get the jop done. If the booster is being justified for conviniance most of the time, how come here you are adding an extra line to do the job? thats more work not less.
Even when we had boosters, we did not do this, because we already had a line in the building. why clean and pack 2 lines.

I find it hard to believe the booster vs.1 3/4 argument is still alive and well. Try a timed race between a booster line and a 1 3/......AAAH, never mind. If you haven't figured it out by now, I probably can't convince you.

Went through this many years ago. Stopped at my fathers house for breakfast, on the way into work for 9x6 tour. He said-"hey, your firehouse is on 43st.,right? I think it has been destroyed by a huge fire!" I hoped (selfishly) that it was the other company,Engine 65, also on 43 st., not Rescue 1. No, it was my firehouse- the 6-story (heavy timber) piano factory burned (arson) and collapsed onto our 3-story quarters.
We spent 2 weeks digging through the pancake collapse, getting to our lockers and finding old photos and memorabila (sp?). One of the guys had many large coffee cans filled with quarters, and another had all the masts and sails and gear for his sailboat in the cellar, in addition to his three boys band equipment. (He told his boys that they could rehearse in the firehouse basement, as long as the Captain wasn't working). Well one day the Captain made a last minute mutual, and ending up working during a "rehearsal". Needless to say, he wasn't happy when he heard a huge racket going on in quarters!
Anyway, we had to relocate for several years to E34/L21 on 38st. unil a new quarters was rebuilt on the site. Of course the wrought-iron circular staircase and the old kitchen and the wainscoting-all gone in the new "modern" station. Losing your firehouse to a fire is very painful even if it was an accident.

Below I posted a link to a Journal-News story about two fires in Yonkers Friday evening. The first was reported about 8 PM in a fourth floor apartment in a six-story apartment building on Caryl Avenue in the southwest part of the city. This fire went to two alarms. Two firefighters also suffered some injuries.
Around 9 PM a second working fire was responded to, on the east side of Yonkers in a Bronx River Road apartment building and also involving a fourth floor apartment.
It sounds like YFD did their usual good job.
I'm sure they were stretched very thin by these two incidents and I'd really like to know how they juggled the assignments and etc. As a Yonkers resident I really take my hat off to the commanders at these incidents who can figure out how to accomplish all that they do.
    Great job guys!

Thank you to everyone on EMTBRAVO who supported E-306 and the YFD in the RescueRemodel Contest. Congratulations to Palos as I am assuming that they won. It won't be announced officially until the 15th. I haven't seen any evidence that Palos or anyone else did anything unethical or unfair. Give them credit for doing whatever they did to get the vote out, which is exactly what our guys accomplished very succesfully as well. Maybe IKEA will recognize that there was a legitimate issue with their technology which raised some suspicions and caused a bit of frustration and they will award two (or even 5) kitchen remodels- it would be even more great publicity for them...we'll see...
In any event, this contest has, I feel, been a needed morale booster for our guys. Also, although there is nothing official to announce yet, we have received several inquiries from both individuals and businesses who may wish to take on all or a part of a kitchen remodel for E-306. We will keep you all posted if any of that comes to fruition.
Thanks again to everyone who voted for E-306, and for your expressions of support.

Don't do it Goose. Don't give in. I'm wondering (the JFK conspiracy theorist within) if this wasn't a staged event pulled off by the perpetrators knowing it might accomplish exactly what you just said; try to discourage people from participating? Hmmm....
Whatever their "illogical" reason might have been, don't give up. It's worth the fight!

Technically the municipality usually is, since they own the building. However if you wait for them, you will have the same run down kitchen on the day you retire as the day you started. Most career fire stations get redon by the members, when lucky the municipality will cover the cost of materials &/or appliances.
