1) This was actually a 2nd alarm, hence the amount of equipment.
1st Alarm: Scarsdale E54, E55, E56, L28, C2432
Working Fire: Hartsdale E170, Greenville L4, Eastchester E31, TL17
2nd Alarm: White Plains E66, Fairview L1
Total Response: 6 Engines, 4 Ladders
2) There were 2 engines & 2 ladders brought in to cover Scarsdale.
New Rochelle E23 & Larchmont TL7 to Scarsdale HQ.
Yonkers E314, L75, Battalion 2 to Scarsdale Sta. 2
3) I went on Google Maps and measured the house and it is/was 70 x 50 so it was a good size. If you look at the picture just below the picture of the Scarsdale ambulance, you'll see that the garage was turned into a living space and it appears to be a split level to begin with. So I'm guessing that there were 3 levels in the house to deal with. The windows don't match up going across the front.
Actually New Rochelle responded to the scene with E23 and MSU 3.

Something is totally a miss regarding Eastchester's Mutual Aid listing given to 60 Control, specifically pertaining to Bronxville. Maybe Chief Grogan and the Eastchester Board of Fire Commissioners can 'chime in' on this (I suspect that once those very rich home/property owners in the Village of Bronxville get wind of this, the Eastchester Board of Fire Commissioners and Chief Grogan will have allot of explaining to do !!)
They should start by explaining to them why they are so understaffed that they need 4 departments to put out a house fire.

When you don't play nice in somebody else's sandbox they don't have to invite you back to play...
Totally false (except for them putting Batt 3 in service when one of the other Batt goes out of town).

I am selling a N5A Black Leather Helmet, size M, asking $450. I wore it for three weeks but it's just too small. The only modifications I made was to lower the front badge holder and remove top foam so it sits lower. See attached photos.
PM me for further details

I dont know if there where any issues why it was flowing like that. It has nothing to do with the water pressure. All i know you do that in my job and get ready for a s... Storm. Just looks horrible and unprofessional.
-
Was talking about the water flowing from the second fly and not the tip.
-
Nothing looks worse than flowing the ladder pipe like that. I hope there was a reason.

Of course, all municipalities go out to "Bid" (and we all know how that process works ) and the bid normally is awarded to the Lowest Bidder (provided that more than 1 manufacturer bids on a specific bid request). With New Rochelle, I would suspect that heavy emphasis would be placed on a manufacturer who has had recent success of providing the city with Fire Apparatus, whose "In Service Up-Time" is well above the average (which would make obtaining Parts and keeping the rigs in service much easier). Thus, I would "suspect" (and I certainly might be wrong) that the same manufacturer that has recently supplied New Rochelle with Engine Company 21, 22, 23, and 25 (Spartan/Smeal) would be the vendor of choice (lowest bid dependent, of course)
E25 is a 2008 Pierce Arrow.

Preference "means" don't waste your time if you don't live in New Rochelle. But they are allowing you to take it which is good for testing experience.$25 to see what the test contains for future reference when you may be in a better position to get hired somewhere else. I think it's worth it.
-
According to the application for the Westchester exam, applicants can sign up for multiple tests and take them at one testing location. A cross filing form must be filled out and sent to the county no less than 2 weeks before the test. Now thats the county's policy, not sure exactly what NR does.... they decided to leave out a bit of important information it seems.
No online application, forms must be picked up in person. No notification of what the application costs until you show up in person to get it. No information on exam reciprocity while the exam was posted after Westchester filing closed. And while those of us who've tested before know what "preference" means (a NR list and an others list), there's no real explanation of what "preference" means. They know who they want to hire, but they still want those donations from suburban kids looking to get hired.

Is engine 22 going to be a little different from engine 21 and 23 because engine 22 is a squad isn't ? it has a squad body.
E22 is not a squad,it is an engine and acts as such. It has extra compartment space and equipment (primarily hazmat) to be used as needed. Station 2 is considered part of Squad 2 in the WCSOTF.

I believe Yonkers did man spare rigs. I heard E300, L78 and B4 in service that night. So their guys actually got OT. So the union should be happy.
