Connecticut requires permits for blue lights, the route getting the permit is through the Chief to sign off on it. In our department it was at the Chief's discretion to decide on each individual based on their maturity level and role in the department. No probationary members could get one, so the soonest it could happen was 6 months.

Sorry, still don't get it, never will.

Ignition key removal boxes were available long ago, not sure if they still are or modern vehicles prevented using them. You could leave the vehicle running without the key in it and as soon as anyone stepped on the brake it would cut out. You have to step on the brake to overcome the park / shift interlock so it would prevent you from even getting the vehicle in gear.

Now you know of 4 departments that do.

They don't change much from year to year so you can try to look up the previous winners and that should give you an idea. Some districts are great about publishing the winners lists, others aren't.

Of course she has a personal life and is entitled to do what she likes, but this isn't like she had an unhealthy obsession with cats or something. An ironic and unfortunate event.

Isn't this the show that featured a female officer from Bridgeport who was outspoken about domestic violence and was arrested two days after filming for domestic violence?

Based on their proximity to the building they took some measures to reduce the side loading on the outriggers by keeping the ladder retracted. Best option would have been backing in, this is probably the second best assuming they had good distance from the active fire.

Based on how lean they run that department I think it is conceivable he will run medical calls, drive the ladder and clean the floors.

It's globalization, there is no way to avoid it and no easy way to assure anything with more than a single part is all US content. It's just the way it is. Anyone can slap a flag sticker on a product, it doesn't necessarily mean much.

This is one out of Ft. Lauderdale in the 80's.
Holy crap. That roof ladder is almost vertical. The players in that photo would be a great subject of a "where are they now" to see how that changed their lives beyond needing new undies.

If you go their web site they show the opening tool. It is what looks like a 2' arm that uses leverage against a plunger on the hydrant.

Get one of the headlight polishing kits if that doesn't work.

wow come on really ? you go there when they just lost every thing?what answers are you looking for here?have some respect for gbfd even if there vollunteer.s.
The irony is funny here...you ask for respect but at the same time make a derogatory comment about volunteers "even if there (sic) vollunteer.s. (sic)"

Thanks guys. I'm going to buy a pair of BDU style pants. Then put the BP cuff in there. I just don't want to forget anything in a bag because sometimes when my mind gets going I am less worried about my stuff and more worried about clocking out after a shift that made me cry in pain.
Hopefully you aren't treating someone and start to worry about clocking out. You would think being a big boy now you could account for your stuff before you leave work.

If it isn't funny, is it still a joke??

Now that you have the answer, you or an admin should go back and delete her name. No reason that needs to be out there.

Always easy to say this from a chair at a desk, but it looks like it is on a slope. Before they did anything, especially going in, they should have chocked it.
