Looks like Boston PD got a few as well. I don't know the details but this photo showed up on a local blog.
I think it's funny that it came with a NY dealer plate on it, the bloggers didn't.

Here's their Rescue 2. 1 photo was taken from my cell phone due to the angle I was standing and the crowd of people around me. Maneuverability was limited.

This is a pic I took of Corolla's platform in June, 2007. Looks like it was called Platform 637 then, also looks like they've updated the lights on it since then.

Hastings Quinte EMS has been providing ambulance service for the county since 2003. Currently there are 5 base stations throughout the county. 1 in the town of Madoc, Bancroft (each of these are the closest towns from my cottage. Bancroft is 30 minutes north and Madoc is 30 south. HUGE difference in overall quality of life between the 2.), Quinte West (Trenton, which is where the Royal Canadian Air Force base is located), and 2 stations in the city of Belleville (nearest city from my cottage, which is an hour south). There's also a post that's operated 12 hours a day in the town of Tweed as well.
There are approximately 150 members within the EMS. Each HQ-EMS base runs between 24,000 and 27,000 calls per year. Hastings Quinte-EMS has about 6 stations located within the county. The vast majority of calls are low priority (Code 1, 2)
The BLS paramedics have 2 years of Community College as well as an EMCA certification. Some BLS members may be trained in one or more ALS skills such as IV therapy.
The ALS paramedics have approximately 1 full year of post-secondary education in addition to the 2 year PCP Program. There are approximately 35 ALS certified medics.
Vehicles consist of 4 Emerg Response Units, 17 Paramedic Ambulances, 1 emergency support unit, 1 emergency support trailer (specially equipped for Hazmat and Decontamination), and 1 maintenance and supply vehicle. All paramedic ambulances are modular types. The ERU's are suv's, so they're basically what we call fly cars. They're usually staffed by management staff or supervisors. They don't transport. When dispatched, they run with a paramedic ambulance.
All units are supplied with GPS and AVL (auto vehicle location) to allow the supervisors and dispatch to receive up to the minute accuracy and be able to locate an address quickly. All vehicles are also supplied with an on board wireless laptop that allows crews to pull up a digital map display in real-time.
Coverage area for Hastings County is 2,356 sq mi reaching about 100 miles from north to south with a population of about 135,000 but probably quadruples during summer months from all the cottagers and Quinte West municipality is 191 sq miles.

Sigh,....this is the first time after 5 straight years I didn't make it OBX!
A little side note about the Currituck County medics and Corolla FD: in 2009, my friend's mother suffered a stroke while we were down there. The medics were top-notch. One of the medics was also a volunteer at Corolla. Seeing as we had 4 young kids with our group, and knowing how much time the adults were going to spend at Outer Banks Hospital, he gave my friend his cell number and offered to give the kids a tour. Long story short, as I was one of the adults without kids, I made contact with him. He was a consummate professional! Great with the kids, he gave us all a ride in the pumper and let the older kids play with the 1 3/4 (with his and my help, BTW). We talked shop and he gave us great advice on surf fishing. I have to look for my letter to the chief to get his name, but from what I've heard from fellow travelers to OBX, that's the normal mindset.

After graduating PA school on the 11th, I took a small trip to Bermuda. Definitely needed a getaway to lay low and relax after studying my butt off these past couple years. While I was down there I stopped by the local FD and grabbed a couple quick shots. I was pressed for time so I wasn't there long. One FF came out and was very happy to talk to me and show me the rig, very nice guy. Anyways - just thought i'd share.
This station only had one rig at the time. I asked a little bit about what they usually see on a regular basis. Per the FF, they mostly respond to MVAs and MCA. I was told there is at least one fatal a week on the island with all the small streets and motorcycle/scooter drivers. Mix a little EToH, cell phones, speed and you get the picture. As for structure fires, he told me it is usually a room and contents type deal. Home construction on the island is usually a noncombustible type material and limestone roofs. All roof's are Limestone as they use it to catch rain water for home use.
I didn't have time to get into all the gear/tools/whatnot so here's what I grabbed.
Bermuda Fire Service - Port Royal Station (main headquarters are located in Hamilton Bermuda, didn't make it there)

    200? Spartan/Dependable - 25' long, I believe he said 60 gallons of foam and 2 maybe 300 gallons of water. I can't remember exactly.

Police/Rescue boat I saw in Dockyard - I wasn't able to get a better shot than this one.

    Enjoy

So I just finished up an incredible week out in the Outer Banks of North Carolina; for those of you who have been there, I really don't need to say more, and for those of you who have not been there, be sure to put it on your future vacation bucket list. I have never been one to take photos of apparatus, but with the help of my sister's new Nikon D60 camera, I figured I would give it a shot. I know some of the pictures didn't come out perfect, but I hope the majority are worth looking at.

    Nothing in Rockland.
Orange has stations in City of Newburgh (1), Town of Newburgh (3), Montgomery (8), Middletown, Circleville, Goshen, Monroe, medic at Stewart Airport for Lifeguard-18, as well as the previously mentioned Post 1 North. The headquarters/dispatch is on 9W in New Windsor.
Dutchess County Stations: Village of Fishkill (20)(covering the village and most of the town), East Fishkill (21), Village of Wappingers(23), Town of Poughkeepsie (25), City of Poughkeepsie (26), Hyde Park (27), and the previously mentioned Post 22.
i think that covers most of it.

MLSS has their main reporting station in the City of Kingston (14) with anywhere between 2 (in the very early morning) to 8 crews on at a time (mostly ALS ambulances, one or two BLS transport trucks, and occasionally a fly-car medic) there is a posting station in the Town of Ulster (16) that is staffed with a truck out of Kingston as needed. There is a reporting station in Rosendale (15), that is staffed 24/7 with one ALS truck and backfilled as needed. There is a posting station in Modena (13) that is usually filled from Newburgh (1) , a reporting station in Highland (18) at the firehouse that has two ALS trucks 24/7, and a posting station on 299 in Lloyd (17) that filled as the system allows. Finally there is a BLS truck in Marlborough (19) that is staffed 12 hours a day 7 days a week and 911 dedicated, ALS is usually sent from either 18 or 1. Thats about it for Ulster county.

MLSS has stations in Highland, Kingston, New Patlz, Modena, and Rosendale. Some of these are contract stations which means they are always staffed. Some of them are staffed as call volume and staffing permits.
I believe that MLSS is either the contracted ALS provider or 2nd due when the local vollies can't get out for such places as Accord, Kerhonkson, Esopus, etc.
NWFD Medic can give you the complete rundown.

One of 2 of Port Arthurs new industrial pumpers. E-6, finally got to nab some pics just a while ago while clearing up from a med call. They purchased 2 identical (E-1, being the other) industrial pumpers that they utilize for both residential and industrial. $775,000 a piece. Funny lil fact, there are 3 roads in town that they can't turn down lol. They are just a tad shorter than their 100' platform.

The 10th Edition of the FDNY Operational Reference has been published. I just got my copy, and like previous editions, is packed with basically everything you need to know about FDNY. The comprehensive information is extremly detailed and very in-depth, and covers just about every aspect of FDNY's operations. In fact, it is also even distributed to FDNY members for study and reference.
The book also features photos from our own Joe Pinto.
