They've recently have installed them on what was broadway. That's what he ran into on 45th street and stopped him. I'm not sure if they plan on putting them in on the 7th part of Times Square where he was able to drive onto the sidewalk.
Terrible tradegy prayers to all the families

It was on another social media site giving credit to someone else. Didn't read it all the way to the end. My mistake

That was written by a very respected chief in the FDNY.

Instead of questioning an exterior attack vs an aggressive interior attack. They should be getting back to basics and work on that. Like someone mentioned above not really an "A" effort. The way the video was edited you can't really create a true time line of how long it took to get things going. In the video it shows an engine pulling up and to me it looks like it took a long time to get the line in place and water in it. They had a chance to make a good push on this but their lack of assertiveness and aggressiveness they let this get away from them. I'd be embarrassed if I was the chief after seeing this.

I guess all the firefighters and chiefs on the roof who gave reports and conditions wasn't enough or believeable.

You have to be kidding. How many of them go disabled after one of these monster years? Bet more than 50%!! What happened to a CAP on these guys and girls? Pushing idling cars out of pick up lanes is worth 400K? Come on I'll do it 12 hours a day for 6 days a week for 125K and no benefits.....
Sounds like someone is a little bitter. Didn't make the cut ??

This is a joke right. ???? That man has seen more in an hour than most people see in their careers.

Are we really trying to make an issue on this ? Did you write this from your safe space? If you have a problem with the way the chief spoke why don't you take a drive to talk to him. And I'm sure he'll tell you to get the f*** outta his office. If you're not gonna do that I suggest you stop being a keyboard warrior and focus on something else that matters more

Who cares what he was doing. He was distracted and obviously didn't see a huge red fire truck with flashing lights on it Having the rig protecting the scene basically saved the brothers. This is why using the rig to block the scene is key. Rigs are replaceable the brothers aren't

She was a disaster from the beginning She should never have been given the chance to be a firefighter. Couldn't do any of the evolutions in probie school. Just another part of the agenda that is the city of New York and the fire department thanks to this f****** judges ruling.

macaulay culkin job ? Heard a lot of stories about this job from the brothers in my house. Would love to hear more stories from retired guysHave to agree with "16fire5" on the extinguishment of wind driven fires. Was 1st due engine at a high-rise MD fire on Broadway, opposite the Lincoln Center plaza. Fire was on the 20th(?) floor in an apt. facing the west (Hudson River), started by a halogen torchire lamp, that fell on the bed. The maid opened all the windows to "get the bad smoke out";called bldg. maintenance; and wheeled the occupant (Lionel Hampton, the jazz musician) out, leaving the apt door open.Eventually the concierge called 911. My engine company was across the street on an EMS run, in a hotel, babysitting a dead body awaiting PD,when my MPO reported fire out the windows across the street from us. We ended up 2nd due, and stretched a 2nd standpipe line down the hall. The truck tried to breach a wall from the adjoining apt., with no luck. Anyway, it went to 5 alarms, with the 1st alarm engines getting 2nd degree burns. The 4th and 5th alarm engines, down from Harlem, busted our chops about the ghetto guys putting out our fire, but truth be told- they could only advance their line as fast as the contents burned away. You cannot put out a wind-driven fire if you are coming at it from the downwind side. The KO curtain /fire blanket would have been put to good use at that fire, but it was not yet in our "toolbox" of equipment/tactics. Sorry for the long-winded tale from an old retired guy! Still miss "the job" every day!

This thread is about total run numbers and I am fully aware how they are ranked in that spread sheet because I work there. So stop trying to act like a little know it all we all hate those kind of people especially to someone who knows the run numbers because they work there learn how to take a correction because if you can't you will have a hard time in the fire house

Well that could've been in the spare pool before it was sold. As there a very few 95ft towerladders in the city and almost none in the spare pool.
